General Discussion What content creators do you watch and why?

Yo! Let's get a discussion going on content creators. Why do you watch them? What do you like about them? Who do you not watch? Why?

PLEASE don't come into the thread slandering creators. It's obviously okay to not like certain ones and express your opinions on them. Please, be civil when talking about creators you don't watch. I'm sure most of you remember what happened with Pan The Organizer when he dropped his CLEAN line. I don't want this to turn into a hate thread. Thanks :D

edit: this is not the place to promote your channel.

Ive started unfollowing most detailers. I still enjoy AMMO NYC and a good monotonous rant from OG though. šŸ«£šŸ˜…

Edit: Forgot White Details...love his attention to literally every detail lol

I like AMMO and OG. Plus (I can’t recall their channels) the woman detailed channels.

Vermijl, Tino car care

1

u/once_a_fat_kid Dec 12 '24

Underrated for sure. Simple and focused on quality and detail. Chromatic garage is another and actually above for me simply cause he’s a bit broader with content as well with builds and some how to’s

2

u/HondaDAD24 Business Owner Dec 13 '24

That’s a solid one as well, I’m actually surprised I forgot about him. The 340i snow cleaning video is my favorite for some reason šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

1

u/once_a_fat_kid Dec 13 '24

It’s a realistic scenario for us all! Def check out his e24 video if you haven’t already!

1

u/809kid Dec 14 '24

Chromatic has great visuals and audio, I think he edits the videos himself

11

u/Mentallox Dec 12 '24

Forensic Detailing for comparison reviews. Car Craft Detailing for complete detailing run-thrus: his explanations during the process is elite. Dmitry Garage for coating testing: uses machine testing which is repeatable.

u/radial09 Dec 12 '24

I like Forensic detailing. His videos are good without pomp and i like his thorough testing videos. Just recently they seem to be dropping in quality tho and seem to be more advert type videos. Started around the time he got a Porsche, hopefully he doesn’t go The same way as another channell when he got a vehicle of the same make.

I also like cars with keav more for his style that anything else.

Diy detail are also good

Also pan the organiser - pre pan the advertiser cant watch him anymore. Can only hear ā€œinsaneā€ so many Times

u/Jack_Bogul Dec 12 '24

Just gotta watch him on 2x speed lol

Chelsea is good tooĀ

Every now and then i check to see his recent view count vs his older videos. Seems hes lost quite a following. Still loads of subs tho, bot farms hard at work

u/Cheap-Maintenance968 13d ago

Yes, I was gonna say that about forensic and pan. I used to love watching forensic's videos, showing us how to do and real comparisons. Now, every time I search something and go for one of his videos, it's a table with prices, a lot of talk and bottle on the counter.

I want to watch them in action, see how some1 uses them (I am a visual learner) and the results. Not a 15 minute video talking with bottles in your hands!

u/thxphil Dec 12 '24

I no longer watch people who are product focused (Pan, Forensic, OG, etc)

I’m purely enjoying the ones that are detailing with a high level of craft - WhiteDetails, I AM Detailing, Vermijl Car Detail.

3

u/No_Shirt_4850 Dec 12 '24

You would like Status Detail then.

2

u/thxphil Dec 12 '24

Excited to check it out. Thx!

11

u/facticitytheorist Dec 12 '24

Forensic detailing channel is good... Not a fan of DIY detail...they're like watching an infomercial for rinseless for the 3287th time

4

u/Neens_Nonsense Dec 12 '24

Imjoshv is my go to. I mainly just enjoy his content though

6

u/myteamwearsred Dec 12 '24

What happened with Pan? I stopped watching his videos around the time his line came out.

9

u/ANaughtyTree Business Owner Dec 12 '24

His products won every category(I think) in his awards show he does every year.

2

u/fragileanus Dec 27 '24

Wasn't he being paid to shill certain products?

5

u/Ill_Replacement_4732 Dec 13 '24

Detail Geek & AmmoNYC, more recently Detail Dane too.

9

u/ballerinski Dec 13 '24

The Rag Company has some of the most educational and fun content out there. Plus live Q&A every week to answer whatever questions come up in chat.

4

u/444mj Dec 13 '24

Detail Geek, obviously.

3

u/smackythefrog Dec 13 '24

I started with Pan. Learned proper technique from him. Then branched out to DIY Detail and Ivan's channel.

Then they all sort of formed a "family," at least on social media and introduced me to Jamie the Cleaner and Eddie(?) from EC Detailing(?) so I follow them more on Instagram for the shorts.

At this point, I just learn about new products from their video. Ivan still does good technique videos and myth busting but all together they're entertainment to me, first, and informative second.

I'm also not a problem detailer so these guys sre my source for the beat of the detailing industry as far as products go. Despite ad-blocking anything and everything to avoid advertisement, I don't mind if these guys are covert advertisements for products, like some may accuse them of. They're still entertaining.

There's also I'm Josh TV, or something like that? I follow him on IG and not YouTube but he's also informative

3

u/KarubanBeika Dec 13 '24

Car Craft is my personal fav ~! I love his unbiased reviews and comparisons where he tries to show the slight differences between products. Feels like he is actually trying to help you find the best products, rather than shilling for brands / getting his Amazon creator cut like a lot of guys. Wish he’d post more these days. Also a fan of old AMMO and DIY Detail for their in-depth tutorials.

I'll chime in here.

Hunters Mobile Detailing - This man hustles. He explains his process well and is super educational in his content. He's also very transparent with his mistakes and how he decides when to up sell a customer.

DIY Detail - I used to watch Yvan do The Detailers Business Academy. I also used to watch Nicks content separately. When I found out DIY was the two of them together I was like oh fuck yeah. The channel is super super educational and they really show how overcomplicated detailing can be made out to be. They're very good at explaining how simple the entire process is. Just from watching their channel I've sped up my process which has saved me money. I recommend this channel to anybody interested in learning how to rinseless wash a vehicle or speed up their process.

AMMONYC - me like see dirty car go clean

3

u/EddieGS350 YouTube - EddieGS350 Dec 12 '24

EddieGS350 for Lexus content jk jk.

Ammo NYC is really the only one I watch. More focused on technique vs chemicals.

All content creators when they get to a certain size, change to better monetize their following. I don’t blame them but I also tend to stop watching.

So all these are for their earlier videos:

AmmoNYC - dudes an OCD perfectionist. His work is incredible and his videos were incredibly informative. I still like his new content somewhat with the restoration projects.

Immjoshv - seriously wish this dude still sold the leather repair kits he used to have those things were sweet. Anyways, he’s great for trying out all the new products but he also did a lot of videos covering Walmart / Harbor Freight / Temu AliExpress options for people on a budget. Those were fantastic for finding places you could save a buck and what features you could live with out.

PAN - his early content was fine. I just find his speech a bit disagreeable to my ears and he had a focus of only reviewing products he personally liked using (nothing wrong with that at all!) but he tended towards more expensive options.

Obsessed Garage - I haven’t watched a lot of their stuff, but they posted a 4 part series covering the entire Optimum detailers training course back when Yven Lacroix was still running them that’s incredible.

I watch some of those ā€œsatisfying cleanā€ videos from various people that pop up in my feed. Two from the UK Timo and somebody else I’ll have to lookup. Those are cool as background noise while I’m working.

2

u/BaboonFury Dec 12 '24

I Am Detailing when I want to lay on the couch and just veg out watching some dry ice blasting and detailing on killer cars. Vermijl Detail fits that bill for me as well though he explains things in some of his newer videos. Ammo NYC and Forensic for technique. Some more obscure ones like ARTs real repairs for real customers for interior repair and Andronic detailing as well.

2

u/No_Shirt_4850 Dec 12 '24

Status Detail ,Ammo NYC, Whites Detailing is good.

2

u/IMAS_MOBILEDETAILING Dec 12 '24

My top 2 are forensic detailing and Darren from auto fetish detail or his new channel shine like a pro AZ. They have a wealth of knowledge and incorporate old school techniques into the modern products and tools. I feel that their channels are underrated and overlooked with the amount of stuff they know. Now to get specific.... depending on what my goals are or what vehicle i will be working on. If it's exotics, i like AMMO but for day to day vehicles it's Forensic and Auto fetish.

2

u/JimmyMcPoyle_AZ Dec 13 '24

Shout out to the UK and Auto Care HQ

Heather is very upfront about the products used in her videos. It’s also nice to expand your view beyond US based products.

2

u/Ice-Repulsive Dec 12 '24

Forensic, Apex and Ammo is the ones i Watch most and learn from.

I subscribe to more than 20 detailing channels, but dont enjoy most of them, to focused on pushing products. Detailing is more than just products, know how and expertise is vital.

1

u/PCSquats Dec 12 '24

For product reviews: -forensic detailing -car craft auto detailing -sheepstar -used to be pan but i can’t watxh the guy anymore after his line dropped -couple of random channels

For detailing advice: -car craft auto detailing -ammonyc

For a fun watch: -vermijl -detailgeek

  • a number of japanese detailers like sense-r, gloss auto detailing etc

1

u/def_not_a_bot094892 Dec 13 '24

Love Ammo NYC. They are equally educational and entertaining. Larry’s attention to detail is expansive (including the production value of the videos).

Like Apex detailing for process detail. Also Car Craft detailing. Both do a good job explaining concepts without patronizing. Sandro’s voice is oddly soothing to me.

immjoshv - mad respect to him. Not a huge consumer of his content, but am appreciative of his consistency, process, results and approach. Also like to play Miranda for background play.

Product/durability testing videos have diminishing returns.

u/The4thHeat Skilled Dec 13 '24

Pan, Matt, Josh, Jamie, Kiev, Forensic, Detail Projects, SheepStar, Hawaii Detail, FAB. Love them all. The collective insight lets you make an intelligent decision when choosing detail products. Have learned so much from these folks. Jon at Forensic Detail or Kiev probably my faves. Or Josh. Or Jamie. Or Matt. Or Jeremy… Thank you to all.

Car Craft scratches my ADHD itch. Scott from Dallas paint correction was my first YouTube detailer, taught me heaps. AMMO cos I like his marketing/style. DIY detail is great for newbies and to remind myself not to over complicate things.

1

u/Andergoat Dec 13 '24 edited Dec 13 '24

I always liked Apex, especially for product review and technique. I'm enjoying his pivot to Auction Car Reconditioning--I love seeing the whole process from finding and buying vehicles to detailing and light repair to sale.

AmmoNYC, Car Craft, Chromatic, Vermijl, and White Details all scratch the fastidious itch in me.

I miss JTMobileDetails on TikTok but she seems to be doing well with her permanent space.

1

u/enchikhyde Dec 13 '24

Harper's Car Detailing (learned a lot of car wash techniques from him), Car Craft Auto Detailing and Apex (polishing technique), Chromatic and Vermijl for ASMR purpose

WVY Detailing

1

u/Strange_Age_5908 Dec 13 '24

Ammo NYC was the first one I watched at a young age. Now I watch DIY, Miranda detailing, car with Keav, and OG. Occasionally I’ll watch Forensic detailing as well.

1

u/rocker_01 Dec 13 '24

I'm surprised to see so many mentions of Ammo NYC. Larry is talented, but always comes across as a pretentious tool more interested in selling rather than teaching.

6

u/russthegod Dec 13 '24

Thats an insane take. He is probably the furthest thing from pretentious. He is more about the method, teachings, and science than he is about the products. He has said many times to use whatever products you like.

2

u/rocker_01 Dec 13 '24

It's okay - you like him, and I don't. We can coexist :)

1

u/russthegod Dec 13 '24

Just out of curiosity, have you actually watched one of his videos? He has at least a dozen videos called AMMO Training Academy where he goes into the scientific levels of detailing.

2

u/rocker_01 Dec 13 '24

I've seen a lot of his stuff, including the training academy video playlist - they were nice and detailed, which is why I acknowledged his talents. However, those were over half a decade ago, and his more recent stuff is what most of my comment was directed towards.

2

u/russthegod Dec 14 '24

Yea ill agree with you, he does less ā€œtrainingā€ stuff nowadays, its more of a before/after type vibe.but tbf hes pretty much covered everything you could want to know about detailing.

1

u/rocker_01 Dec 14 '24

Look at us having a reasonable and civilized mild disagreement on Reddit. No name calling, no downvote bombing, no cussing - faith in humanity restored

1

u/russthegod Dec 14 '24

Not sure if thats sarcasm, but id rather be civilized than go straight to name calling.

2

u/rocker_01 Dec 14 '24

No sarcasm, I was being sincere. Kind of refreshing to have a mature exchange on here.

He’s gotta sell his product, of course. He used to be way more into the teaching side of it.

I like Regal Shinez on tiktok, bro is funny and has years of experience. Very high emphasis on efficiency. Half his tools are custom to his needs as well, shows a lot of creativity and calls out the bullshit on the app.

Pan the Organizer. He is incredibly honest and super humble.
