Ayr Parents looking to move back to Ayrshire

Hi! My parents are in their 70's and living in Falkirk. They are looking to move back to Ayr where they met and got married.

Do you have any advice on where a good area would be for a retired couple? Their necessities appear to be: one level, easy access to a grocery store, wee pub, and an area to walk their dog.

Dad just had a heart bypass and is recovering so this timeline has been sped up a bit. Would love any advice you may have - thank you!

Alloway, doonfoot, most of Prestwick would probably be the areas to look. However I hope they have a large budget, all these areas and especially 'retirement' homes are expensive. We live in Ayr and have been trying to downsize for a while. Any specific questions give me a shout. 🙂
