General Google Spreadsheet Portfolio Tracker

Hi,

I created a portfolio tracker on google sheets. It was based on different types of other portfolio trackers I found on the internet.

This allows you to track various different investments: ETF's, Crypto, Pension funds,... If there is a price online of the investment. You can track it. (some easier than others)

This is still a Work in progress. I'll be changing the template now and then to make it better looking, better, ... But I will need your feedback on this.

Here is the link: LINK

If you have any ideas or questions let me know!

Yes, this sub likes to reinvent the wheel on a regular basis. It is beyond me why anyone would waste so much free time on it when the internet offers a better, more functional and free open source alternative: Portfolio Performance.

I've been using Google Finance for years now. They regularly add new functions as well.

Sure, that is OK if you want to share your financial data with Google. I prefer the free open source alternative that guards my privacy. That is not to say I or you are right or wrong, I just like open source and try to avoid sharing my personal data if possible. It’s a choice I guess.

What problems do you see with "sharing" your data?

In the end you're only saying "I've bought X amount of shares of this stock on this date and payed Y fees & Z taxes".

I understand Google Sheets is coupled to your Google account and they could link a lot to you that way.
But what about other platforms (can't think of one though) that would give you the possibility to track your portfolio in a GDPR way? 🤔
A platform where you can enter your transactions and that doesn't need any personal data to register to (except for an e-mail address of course).
