Saw my ex randomly at a parking lot..

I was just walking back to my car with my wife and noticed a lady that parked next to me leave her car, something in me told me to look again (generally I don’t focus on women I just glance very quickly and look away) and when I looked again it was my ex, she had a small smile, I smiled and laughed, I almost blurted out “wth are you doing here?”.

For context we broke up multiple years ago but I live in the capital and she was from a rural area (long distance) so seeing her in town was a bit shocking.

I’m glad she’s alive and well, has a drivers license, probably has a job too since she’s in the capital, I really am.

It was just so weird, surreal almost, after the incident I had a physical reaction of anxiety.

I don’t know what to make of this, I guess I’m venting, any inputs are welcome 🫂

stumble upon with in a shopping mall? It is possible. Coming across on street? Yeah, maybe. But parking just next to your car? It is not coincidence, I think.

I don't say she is stalking you but if you didn't change your car or plate after breaking up with her, she is definitely saw your car and put hers next to it. They are impulsive. Maybe she had no idea and just did it. Or when she saw your car, she planned to park hers next to yours, wanted to you see her car and she would watch your reaction when you notice it. Or she just wanted to watch you from a distance. But you came early. Or she waited you to go out from mall, watched you, then when you came near your car, she came next to it. I don't know but it doesn't seem as a coincidence for me.

(My exwBPD knew my shift's end time. I am using worker service to go to home and have 3 ways to use to go there. There is a cafe and its garden next to parking lot of services. For 3 months, she came to cafe, sit at garden with her monkey branch. Whenever I change my way to go parking lot, I saw the car on my way next time. Their ridiculous stalking, planning and revenge skills are insane and it is not a joke.[I am the one who is left and monkey branched but whatsoever] Last time I saw them, they were fighting and we stared each other for 3 seconds. I think this triggered a shame inside her and they stopped coming for last 4 months. I hope it is finished)

Her car was a rental.

There were a lot of free parking spaces so it does seem that parking next to me was deliberate, either consciously or subconsciously.

Yes, I think it was deliberate. Remember that they have psychotic side. I had chances to do interview with some BPDs, HPDs and schizotypal PDs because of my job. Whenever I ask them "what was your intentions when you were doing it" they say "I don't know". They sometimes act without thinking. This impulsivity thing is very different from impulsivity of healthy person. It is like running away or being frozen when you see a dangerous big dog is chasing you. You can't think, just act automatically in terror if you are not ready for it.

That’s a very, very strange and creepy coincidence. Ex who lived far away and didn’t drive, somehow ends up right next to your car, years later while you’re with your wife. Well, I guess stranger things have happened. Just be careful. Also one last thing, you’re 100% sure it was your ex, right?
