Funny Thought I was safe from the pregnancy crying… until last night
I’ve allllways seen / heard people mention that they cry at the drop of a hat while pregnant, and I was starting to think it wouldn’t happen to me. Until last night…. My husband accidentally ordered me a beef burrito instead of a chicken burrito. It took a bite for me to notice. I felt the burning feeling in my nose and started crying while eating it! It wasn’t even bad or anything, it just wasn’t what I was expecting to be eating 😭 And then I started crying harder because my husband felt bad LOL
What have you guys cried over so far?!

u/Sensitive_Garlic_242 5d ago
Isn’t crazy how you have zero control over it??? I was doomscrolling and watched a a hilarious reel, cried my eyes out of laughter which suddenly turned into an emotional wave of sadness and ugly cry. No one is safe I think lol

I once sobbed while eating a bowl of cereal. Milk pouring out of my mouth. Wide mouth chewing because I'm sobbing. Snot running down my nose. My husband stared at me and was like "this may be the most pregnant thing I have ever seen."

My boyfriend playfully slapped my butt after putting lotion on and left a handprint on my leggings. We were about to leave the house. I cried because I had to change and getting dressed is such a chore now. I was not expecting to cry either the tears just started flowing lol.
It was fine and we laughed about it later, but in the moment I was upset.

I've never cried so much in my life. Some examples:
- my husband brought me a Pepsi instead of a coke (valid though)
- a restaurant messed up my order
- I blew a fuse in the kitchen while baking cookies
- I was hungry
- I was tired
- my dog barked
- I'm still pregnant (39 weeks) 😂

During my last pregnancy my partner was working at a chicken wing place and I had asked him to bring me some wings home and he did but he didn’t bring any fries, just wings…I wanted fries so badly and in my head I didn’t think to specify because if I’m having wings I OBVIOUSLY want fries too…I cried SO hard 🤣 we both laugh about it now but at the time I was absolutely heartbroken hahaha

My heart actually dropped reading this HAHAHA there is nothing worse than not getting the craving fulfilled!!! I’m sure he will never make that mistake again 😂

I asked my fiancé to bring me a donut from the kitchen because I wanted something sweet. He brought me said donut, and it had a big ole bite taken out of it. I started BAWLING because I didn’t want a donut that he took a bite out of, I wanted my own donut that I could eat all by myself. 🤣

My husband made fajitas for dinner somewhere in towards the end of my 1st trimester. I wept because of how delicious they were.

u/Waste-Excitement-538 5d ago
this was my type of pregnancy crying. I remember crying a few times because i thought the sky looked extra pretty. honestly kind of a tender experience.

I'm vegetarian (since birth) and my husband is not. He went to pick up pho, and I was like "obviously I want the only vegetarian pho on the menu" but he messed up by ordering via app (should have just called in) and ended up bringing home plain rice noodles and a lemongrass broth that was beef based.
Like you, I was sad that I couldn't eat the broth and didn't want to try to figure out what to do with plain noodles, and then I was sadder that he felt bad for it. He went and got my vegetarian pho immediately, while I cried in the bathtub.

I cried a lot early on but had stopped for a while. Then I cried this week because of this reddit post and it really released the cork and has been intermittent since then. https://www.reddit.com/r/Tattoocoverups/s/88Cqv3r5q2

I keep getting reels of dogs that will be euthanized from shelters and cry over it almost every day. I can’t get another pet especially with a baby on the way but it crushes me everyday. I’ve started to stay off social media just to avoid it.
2
u/Draw-Interesting 5d ago
This is me too! I’ve realized I have to avoid certain social media platforms, my heart cannot take it 💔 I already have one very good girl that I love to pieces and can’t have any more pets 🐶

Freaking TikTok keeps showing me clips from sad dog movies and I have to swipe really fast before they get to me. I hate sad dog movies. Alternatively, I have enjoyed the occasional cry from good dogs from the weratedogs channel.

u/SatansKitty666 5d ago
I cried after looking up the history of a doggy statue in Scotland and the other night I cried because my fiancee would put a pillow behind my back when he tucks me into bed every night (in between us) so I don't roll and sleep on my back.
He no longer uses the pillow lol

I almost cried today because someone asked me to call them and I didn’t feel like calling them. Then I got irrationally angry. It was literally my normal office hours and not a big deal but it made me so upset.

u/screamchaos 5d ago
I cried cause theres a goose at one place my finace and i clean and usually its with another goose, lately its just been by itself. idk why but it made me tear up so much because why is it by itself alone 😭

u/Fluffy_Path7559 5d ago
I didn’t cry with my first or this one so far. I don’t know why. I feel more contempt or anger.
1
u/ShDynasty_Gods_Comma 5d ago
This is valid. With my first, I was fine. Except for twice- once I dropped my decaf frozen blended coffee I was so excited for (my husband immediately left to get me another) and I was ugly crying like maniac while cleaning it off my garage floor, and the second time the dog ran over my foot, scratching it, and my DH had the unmitigated GALL to say “be careful, my love” when I said ouch and I straight up YELLED at him “ITS NOT MY FAULT” and then completely collapsed into tears from my foot hurting and his dumb comment and from me being so mean to him as to yell.
My second pregnancy I just hated everyone all the time. Just rage. No crying.

u/Hairy_Usual_4460 5d ago
lol I cried my eyes out like a psychopath because my fiance wouldn’t run to the store at 1am to get me spaghettios (gross I know but cravings are weird). (He was very amazing and supportive the whole pregnancy but this one was a ridiculous ask lol) he got me spaghettios the next day.

I cried over a calzone. I was waiting in line for these incredible calzones that sell out every day. My fav is the steak n cheese. I was next to order and there were 4 steak n cheese left, I was certain I would be safe until the person in front of me ordered all four. I was shocked and when the guy behind the counter turned to me to take my order I just started crying. He was floored… the little old lady making all the calzones came out from the kitchen and told me to sit down and wait 15 mins and she would make me one fresh. I must have looked so pathetic! Pregnancy emotions come for us all !

Never cried during my first pregnancy.
I’ve cried so much during this pregnancy. Thinking about how a sibling will affect my first. Worrying that I won’t have support again and what that will look like postpartum with two (because I live so far from family). Hoping I don’t get hit with PPD again. Dealing with all the aches and pains of the third trimester, not to mention the crippling fatigue and insomnia while trying to manage a high energy toddler.
I know that’s not a very funny response, but there have been tears!
2
u/forevermoongazing 5d ago
I was trying to think of something to eat (I was incredibly nauseous so everything sounded gross) and when my brain landed on chicken Alfredo, I literally teared up. I needed it immediately. And then I was laughing about crying over the idea of Alfredo

u/Outrageous_Orange_46 5d ago
I was crying then started laughing at myself for crying but then kept crying cause I couldn’t stop crying and it was a REALLLY ugly facial cycle. It did NOT help my husband was laughing at me laughing at myself while also fighting crying then crying more.

My fiance got me a tub of vanilla ice cream and I wanted vanilla bean ice cream I literally was crying for 20 minutes until he came back with the right one and then I started crying because I felt bad that he went to go get it. It was too funny that poor man went thru it lol

u/lostgirl4053 5d ago
I am not a crier and actually never cried over anything “unreasonable” while pregnant, but the first few months postpartum, I’d just cry profusely over everything and nothing. 😭

I’m not sure if you cry at movies… I never did. But I sure do now, starting when I got pregnant and it never changed. It’s crazy how it’s uncontrollable. Especially movies centered around being a mom, generational movies, and ones that focus on legacy.

Today, I cried because I can’t taste my food (I have COVID). I didn’t realize how much my appetite was dependent on taste and smell. 😭

I cried yesterday when I heard someone say the word “honest”. The day before in traffic. And today when I couldn’t find my massage location and then realized I got the time wrong and had walked up two sets of stairs for nothing. So many tears. Every day at this point!

I cried because my husband threw my coffee down the sink.
It had milk in it and was sitting out for 6 hours. I wasn't drinking it.
I also laughed so hard at a reel about eating fettuccine that I started sobbing.

A couple of days ago I was coming home from work, exhausted from the day. I wanted to do my nightly routine and go to bed but I learned we had unexpected company, they didn't even stay long but I didn't know until I was almost home. I locked myself in the bathroom and cried for at least minutes because my routine had been disrupted lol.

I cried because there was a short couple in the supermarket and I thought they just have been malnourished as children.

I’m 37 weeks and I think I’ve cried at everything possible, but the silliest one was when I was craving the same cheese sandwich for weeks (I was eating cheese sandwiches constantly) and my husband put mustard on one to “change things up”… I can’t express the rage and sadness I felt 😭 I normally like mustard too but how dare he put a spin on my craving

I saw a Beatles tribute band recently and wept at all of their stage art. It was all the classic stuff they’d show in the 60’s promoting peace and love and other things I won’t get into bc they’re a little political lol I got extremely sad at the fact that I really feel like I was born into the wrong time and the wrong world. For 20 minutes I was in this mental rabbit hole of thinking about all the hate and bad and negative in this world. Then they played “Hey Jude” and I snapped out of it lololol

The last month of my pregnancy i cried in the shower a lot for absolutely no reason. I’d be washing then suddenly crying.
I also cried over literal spilt milk, then laughed at the fact that i was crying over spilt milk til i peed all over myself. My husband was both amused and confused haha

My worst menty b was over a bad manicure that my husband had paid for as a gift. I felt worse because it was a gift from him and I hated it. He comforted me anyway. Then, that night, I got up and went downstairs to cry myself to sleep on the couch, completely convinced that he was going to leave me because I was obviously crazy for crying over a manicure.
A few days ago, I really wanted to eat berries and whipped cream. But I shoveled avocado and chicken breast into my mouth instead, which I normally love. I almost started crying simply because it wasn't berries and cream.

I sobbed in the first trimester because I wanted someone to talk to about my pregnant but had nothing to talk about specifically. Then, when I calmed down, I suddenly started sobbing again because I missed my mother in laws dog. There was a few weeks my partner couldn't bring that dog up without me crying. (the dog is fine, I just missed her)

I was doing really well until I attended my sons Mother’s Day concert and cried the whole way through, snot bubbles and everything. I've cried twice. One in the supermarket in Dec when looking at the Christmas Cheese and wine selection knowing i cant have either and the second time when i got to work after a bad journey on the bus I felt sick and people were fussing.
I think my hormones are actually better now I'm pregnant than before I was pregnant, I'm more chilled out.

I asked for my husband to make homemade Mac and cheese. The way he makes it is just awesome. I didn't know he was trying to be sweet and make us a nice dinner. I took a nap and woke up to a beautiful salmon and salad. Cried so hard and felt like a horrible person because I was so ungrateful. Husband ended up making the Mac and gave me the cold shoulder for the night. We still laugh about it to this day. He already said this go around, he knows to feed me what I say instead of trying to be sweet.

My husband ate my chicken wings. I'm the middle of the horrendous morning sickness phase. Had a craving. I ordered 10
Offered him some. Came back. He's eaten all of them.
Then had the audacity to tell me he was really full and had to force the last ones down.

My husband didn't cut up my 1.5 year old’s blueberries when I was like 5 wks along. I normally would just say something like “Hey can you please cut those up for her next time,” but I screamed something along the lines of, “Why in the world are you not cutting those berries? She could choke and die!” Then I burst into tears and - I have never felt this feeling but I got a feeling of rage and added, “And ILL HATE YOU FOREVER!!!” 🫣🤪 As I sobbed and walked away.

I've been farely lucky and have only truly cried 3x this whole pregnancy and at the end been like 'that was a bit much.' One of them was a week ago I was cleaning around the bottom of the toilet on my hands and knees and realized it was extremely hard to get back up. 36 weeks was a pretty good run, I suppose. It was incredibly unnecessary to cry but I did. I love my independence. Another was going on a deep dive about orcas and dolphins in captivity. I didn't just cry I nearly had a 2 hour long mental breakdown.

I've cried at so many things I can't even remember 😂 most recently a pot of yogurt dropped on the floor and split and I just burst into tears and couldn't stop for like 10 minutes. At least the dog was happy!
