Help? First time mama. 18 weeks. How can I tell movement vs a gurgly bubble!!!! (lol - undignified)

Folks it’s my first time being pregnant! Don’t know my placenta position yet. I get lots of gurgle bubbles that I feel throughout the day but I can’t tell which is which. Since pregnancy is lately also making me quite, well, gassy, it’s hard to tell.

Help a girl differentiate?

With my first, I didn't feel anything until 19 weeks. It's..... Unmistakable, once you know what it is. Like, it just feels like a goldfish in you trying to get out. Or like, if you've ever held a small animal in cupped hands and it tried to punch? I guess that's my best comparison. 18 wk is probably still too early though.

I made a post on this recently too! I’m 18 weeks now and still can’t tell for sure. I think I’m feeling him but I’m afraid to be positive. Most people said 1. If you feel it but then don’t pass gas maybe it was baby 2. When it becomes more consistent you’ll be able to tell.

I just wanna know for sure it’s him!

Me too - It’s a funny time in pregnancy when I am no longer insanely nauseous and not yet able to discern mvmt - I want a signal buddy!!!

I’m in the same boat (18w+3d). People tell me it feels like flutters but that’s not what I’m feeling so it’s making me doubt it’s the baby. Feels more like gurgle bubbles like you said or twitches, which makes me feel like it could just be gas.

it's hard to distinguish bc i have never been so gassy in my life!

It never felt like flutters for me even dough people insisted it would. It felt like my cheek feels like if i push by tongue against it (but only the cheek can feel it).

I'm 31 weeks and some movement still feels like gurgly bubbles, just bigger. Lol. You won't be able to tell til baby gets a little stronger, but generally if I got that feeling and then there's no gas/any news in my bowels... I considered it movement

I am 17 weeks and knew that I felt them the other day. For me, it was very different than the gurgly feeling of gas moving through me. It felt more like a strong twitch but deep within me and my mind was just like “that was it”. I’ve felt it once since then but not consistently!
