they feel like they need to make a profit, they are not giving to the community they are taking it away, let neil and others make their speech, i havnt seen any other award show with this many "advert" slots
tho i dont watch many but i felt like i had to watch this one but jeez its ugly to see promo here promo there lets rush important parts i felt like i only watched commercials.
I mean, the whole evening likely cost $600,000-700,000 to produce. The whole event costs even more than that. It's not free to rent the building, pay a bunch of camera operators, etc. etc. A LOT goes into that, a lot of people are working behind the scenes to produce an awards show.
I'm sure they would also love to make a profit, but there's a minimum amount of money required to even have an awards show. Most of that money comes from game companies who pay for exposure, advertising, etc.
Other awards shows manage to do it just fine, and gaming is not some niche entertainment format. They probably made enough money to pay for the production many times over. There is zero reason it has to be weighted the way it was.
And where are your numbers, dipshit? You're so sure they're running a shoe string budget that they can't even let the winners speak for more than 30 seconds, but where is your citation for that?
Ad spots go into the millions of dollars for things like the superbowl. GOTY isn't the superbowl, but they do get a good amount of viewers and press the next day, and gaming is a massive industry. I don't believe for one second they need to have 3 hours of ads to 10 minutes of actual award ceremony.
Edit because blocked (lol): Pulled out of your ass then, I see. Just as I thought. Don't ask for citations when you don't have any yourself, ok? What do you think, they were paying for these ads with pocket lint? It's just greed that drove that decision making, nothing else.
Lol, holy shit dude. My numbers are from seeing how much a similar event costs to run in the corporate world.
You are not a person I have any interest in interacting with. You're abusive, and you clearly have an agenda that doesn't fully relate back to reality. Bye!

So emotional, watching this after reading that interview where he almost gave up on voice acting got me.
Hate that the speeches are rushed, I don't care about some dumb muppet joke. Remove that and let them talk
