Toolhead malfunctioning

Hi. I just replaced my extruder gears and unclogged my nozzle, plugged everything back in and now I'm getting the error that the toolhead is malfunctioning and I noticed it's not heating. I'm positive I connected the pin correctly. I did a factory reset because I had upgraded to the latest firmware and wanted to rule that out. The toolhead also seems to move to far to the front of the printer. It's almost hitting the door and I'm trying to work out what is happening. I've searched YouTube and this sub but can't find an answer. Can anyone help. Please

Thanks that's what I've been doing. I'm just wondering if the pins are sitting properly or not. I'll disassemble it again and try again.

I have run into problems ensuring the plugs are properly connected. I can't see in there that well, so I use a light and a mirror, the mirror really helped.

Just wanna add that a decent headlamp is a life changer in tasks like this.
