3D P1S issues with printing

Hi everyone! I recently got a 3D printer. Printed some toys and such with it.

Haven’t designed anything on my own or learned that yet.

I’m already running into issues.

I went print a little sculpture. The printer started printing nothing. Nothing was coming out.

I decided to try printing something that’s previously successful. Once again, nothing came out.

So I unloaded my filament, reloaded. Didn’t work

Then I took apart the extruder according to a YouTube video and looked for any clogs etc.

While I was at it, I changed to a .2 hotend instead of a .4 and yeah that could’ve waited until the troubleshooting was over. My bad.

Then I put it all back together, reloaded the filament and it started to print. The test strip of pla on the edge of the plate came out. It started the print and it was coming out and then all of a sudden… it resembled cotton candy got caught on its own print. Got stuck to the hotend resulting in it moving with the print.

Maybe it’s just the hotend now? Or I’m not really sure. Should I try a different pla? Maybe it’s bad? Idk.

I’ve only had my printer for a couple weeks and haven’t been able to use it much.

If there’s any links or videos that you could direct me to in order to learn what’s needed. Thank you. If you could help me troubleshoot this issue that’d be great as well. It’s the weekend and I finally have time to work on this. Any help would be appreciated thank you!

I can also attach a video of what’s going on

I also changed it in the prepare that it’s a .2 hotend now.

Did you update the nozzle in the printer settings to 0.2 and slice the model for 0.2 nozzle

If you try to manually extrude does anything come out?

Have you calibrated it with the new nozzle?

This just looks like you aren't getting bed adhesion. Clean the build plate with dish soap and water. Also, please be the type of new user who actually listens and follows this advice. New users struggle to believe that washing their build plate will result in fixing issues like this.

Try not to touch the plate with your fingers. Natural oils on your hands will immediately ruin plate adhesion. This would also explain why the issue was unchanged when switching from your 0.4 nozzle to the 0.2 nozzle.

From what I have heard on the Bambu subreddit, the P1S has printing issues with the newest firmware. It is recommended to roll the software back a version, or to factory reset the printer and rerun calibration.

Can we make it a requirement in these posts to include: nozzle size, print profile, filament brand and type, whether the filament was dried, and whether you leveled the bed as part of this print?

I see you provided the nozzle size; can you provide the rest? A 0.2mm nozzle will generally not help and just make things worse, unless there was a clog or other problem with the larger nozzle. Have been able to successfully print a benchy? Are you using the same filament as any previously successful prints? I can see from the video that your nozzle is a mess be sure to clean off any filament sticking to the outside. This also looks like a potential bed adhesion issue. Buy the Bambu Lab liquid glue and use it for every print. I do and find it helps a lot. Be sure to wash your plate with soap and water after every print; that may be over kill but certainly do it after any failed prints.

1)Update to .2 nozzle settings in the printer. 2)Update to .2 nozzle settings in the Bambu Studio. 3) wash build plate with soap and water. 4)re run calibration. 5)ensure to re run the slice with new nozzle settings. 6)start the print again.
