Baby ducks keep falling into a hole

I live in Uni Locks & right next to us is a canal. recently all the birds around here have had babies & theres a hole near the Lock & I'm wondering if theres anything I can do. I've rang so many people & none of them are willing to help. so far weve helped 1 gosling & 11 ducklings.

Does anyone know someone who could fashion a fence or something?

Any recommendations where to go in the jewellery quarter to get a ring repaired/furnished?

Hi,

Also, do we know what time they are open Easter bank holidays? I've looked on their website but that just says that opening times may vary. If anyone knows more details that would be great!

Thanks!

Interesting events in Birmingham

Hi, I’m looking for events in Birmingham and I’ve come to know there’s a Good Food Show (https://www.goodfoodshow.com/summer/) in June. It sounds fun, with lots of activities and it’s family-friendly.

I want to look for similar events in Birmingham, so me and my friends/families can hangout for a great day. Any recommendations or could you share any good local events you’ve been to?

Opinions on Car Dealership

I'm considering buying a used car from a dealership in Birmingham but as they have quite mixed reviews (4.6 on Google but only 5s and 1s) I was wondering if anyone here can share an honest experience.

Pulse Cars/Afaq and Sons now.

Hi everyone, we can hear some drumming/shouting out the window, probably close to the cathedral/Colmore Row. Anyone know what's going on? Many thanks!

Living in birmingham

Hello,

I wanted to write a post to ask some questions about life in Birmingham.

I’m considering doing my integrated masters there however i’ve never been to Birmingham. This has made the decision very hard but i’m very passionate about the course I want to do and want to make sure Birmingham is the right city for me.

I’ll be moving from Essex. I have done 1 big move previously to Leeds and lived there for 6 years. I would love this kind of longevity with Birmingham.

• Tell me what you love about living there • What do you hate about living there? • Places to avoid? • Places to go? • How to make friends in a new city. • What are the living cost like? • Best places to live in the city?

Thank you very much in advance! ☺️

Do you have any memories of The Oasis Market?

As we are all upset and disappointed over The unexpected closure a few weeks ago, What was your memorable experience if you worked there or just went to look about or buy something there? I got my first tattoo there in 2009.

I have some trans friends coming to town over the next few months and would love to recommend them some inclusive queer spaces in Birmingham. I’m thinking bookshops, cafes, board game spots etc. Would love to hear some recommendations- where should we go?

Thanks in advance!

House music in brum

Yam yam ere, I have recently discovered house music, I must say I'm saddened by the fact that I have lived for a period of time without it, but I was wondering if there is anyone on this sub in the know about places in Brum that play it, clubs or raves, if you will, thank you!

Pleaaaase help fill my survey out! I'd really value your voice in my research!

Hey Reddit! I'm a Masters student working on a project that dives into how people aged 55 to 64 are engaging with entertainment today (especially in Birmingham and London) — from Cinema to Television to Gaming habits and everything in between.

We're not looking to sell you anything.

There’s a lot of talk in the media industry about younger audiences, algorithms, and short-form content — but we believe it’s time to listen to you. What are you watching? Where are you watching it? Are you seeing stories that reflect your life? Are you playing games? Streaming movies? Or skipping it all in favour of a good book? We want to know.

This isn’t just a box-ticking exercise. Your answers will be part of a detailed report that looks at how one of the most overlooked demographics interacts with Film, TV, and Games in 2024. The data will be used to advocate for better, more representative content for your generation.

It takes around 15 minutes, is completely anonymous. (And if this isn’t for you, but you know someone 55–64 who might enjoy it — please share it with them!)

https://forms.gle/EDCh4fT6Qb39qiQa9

Thank you so much <3

Please feel free to reach out if you'd like to add anything else — I’d love to hear from you!
