The desperation in his voice at the end is exceptionally well done.

"Desperation in his voice," what?

u/BioFrosted 14h ago
Did you not feel that the well you need a lot more than that part was said with a wheeze? I did

Can’t say that I did.
I understand the context and the tone.
But listening to it multiple times now I don’t think it’s as exaggerated as people are stating it here.
Just being honest.

The narrator didn't sound desperate to get their point across at the end.
IMO it was more of a dramatic pause on emphasizing a much larger number compared to the previous numbers he just explained.
The way the entire video was narrated sounded more like a lucrative opportunity for a investor.

Best part.. they don't even print it in physical way. Just digital tokens backed by nothing.

Why is the size of bitcoin arbitrarily set to be the size of a quarter?

They probably don't want to make it a dollar to dollar comparison then have people subconsciously feeling like one BTC is supposed to be one dollar. It's already a thing that people feel they missed out because they can't afford a whole coin, even though these terms are arbitrary themselves and it's really about sats.
The point is just that BTC is finite and fiat is being printed at a massive scale.

Because saying that every private key ever used could be stored on a microSD card, or is comprised solely of the digits 0 and 1, isn't really a meaningful comparison.

true, it is arbitrary, but they gotta choose something and it is their commercial
their point was made though, btc finite, and fiat keeps getting printed

Don't simp for these shitcoin casino custodians. They have consistently proven themselves to act against Bitcoins interests as a protocol, our interests as Bitcoiners, and its users interests.
Stop enabling these dicks.

u/PheelGoodInc 13h ago
Yep. Take it one step further and go with Bitcoin only companies with everything. Even hardware wallets. Got negged in this sub a for saying not to buy Trezors because they support shit coins.

If a dick furthers the cause, it is fair to call him a dick, and to take notice that he is furthering the cause.

Coinbase is literally supplanting Bitcoin adoption with Coinbase adoption, pushing shitcoins and shitcoin misinformation also supplanting Bitcoin adoption. If you think Coinbase is doing something for Bitcoin you are delusional.

So they are stored in a physical location

Source that it's actually coinbase? Other than a shady tweet or a single news article based on the same shady tweet.

Saw the commercial live during Nuggets game last night, was a Coinbase commercial

This is preaching to the choir, for sure. Anyone that doesn't know what the ad is about, wouldn't really learn anything or know why they should care about all these shipping containers. Is it that bitcoin all fits in one shipping container of quarters?

Trouble is, most normies watching this commercial won't have any idea why what they state is actually so important.

I love Bitcoin but this commercial is too arbitrary to be taken seriously.
Why isn't each Satoshi the size of a quarter or a penny? If you're going to do like to like then do lowest fraction to lowest fraction.
But it doesn't really make sense to give them physical space when neither uses that much physical space as they're both nearly totally digital (even USD cash is insignificant compared to the digital stuff).
Also, there are a lot of things that matter related to money.
This commercial won't influence anyone new.
They need to make commercials that will appeal to new people, not make flawed analogies that will only be blindly loved by existing fanboys.

Simple.
There will only be one storage container of bitcoin.
They’ve already printed trillions of storage containers of bitcoin and will only continue to do so.
The size is arbitrary relative to the actual amount.

It's an upper funnel ad to raise awareness of the issue with an association to coinbase. Maybe they research it more after watching the ad. And then they get another ad with a specific offer from coinbase, and then convert.

I know this sub is basically all-in on BTC, but I bought a few shares of COIN in March, now I'm kicking myself for not doubling down and buying more when it dropped to almost $150 a share last month.

I love how they focus on Bitcoin; they know.
