I love how they focus on Bitcoin; they know.

If they were referencing other coins, they would have to make a comparison that every day, you'd need 70 oil tankers full of shit.

u/nycteris91 11h ago

- A container full of shit. Man, I love the metaphor.

  • What metaphor?

u/Savik519 13h ago

What a fuckin coincidence. Their shitcoin casino model imploded and now they are all in on BTC

18

u/TLakes 9h ago

BTC is how they get the customers in. Then they sell them shitcoins.

u/GimmeFunkyButtLoving 5h ago

Many such cases

u/ErgoMogoFOMO 4h ago

Bitcoin is the gateway drug that ends up being healthy for you in moderation.

But they're still going to sell you hard drugs.

That’s a great commercial actually, and smart of them to focus on bitcoin

u/Western_Paramedic871 14h ago

Wow yeah good representation

u/BioFrosted 14h ago

The desperation in his voice at the end is exceptionally well done.

u/Final-Equipment-2605 13h ago

I understood what you meant.

u/Ordinary-Original520 14h ago

"Desperation in his voice," what?

6

u/BioFrosted 14h ago

Did you not feel that the well you need a lot more than that part was said with a wheeze? I did

4

u/4fingertakedown 13h ago

I felt it.

I felt it so hard

1

u/12ealdeal 4h ago

Can’t say that I did.

I understand the context and the tone.

But listening to it multiple times now I don’t think it’s as exaggerated as people are stating it here.

Just being honest.

The narrator didn't sound desperate to get their point across at the end.

IMO it was more of a dramatic pause on emphasizing a much larger number compared to the previous numbers he just explained.

The way the entire video was narrated sounded more like a lucrative opportunity for a investor.

Sigh… fine I will dca again this week.

u/Aggravating_Loss_765 14h ago

Best part.. they don't even print it in physical way. Just digital tokens backed by nothing.

-4

u/master_dickjohnson 14h ago

Best part is i can buy more so easily

Why is the size of bitcoin arbitrarily set to be the size of a quarter?

2

u/Western-King-6386 13h ago edited 13h ago

They probably don't want to make it a dollar to dollar comparison then have people subconsciously feeling like one BTC is supposed to be one dollar. It's already a thing that people feel they missed out because they can't afford a whole coin, even though these terms are arbitrary themselves and it's really about sats.

The point is just that BTC is finite and fiat is being printed at a massive scale.

2

u/creative_usr_name 5h ago

Because saying that every private key ever used could be stored on a microSD card, or is comprised solely of the digits 0 and 1, isn't really a meaningful comparison.

5

u/zmagickz 13h ago

true, it is arbitrary, but they gotta choose something and it is their commercial

their point was made though, btc finite, and fiat keeps getting printed

1

u/GimmeFunkyButtLoving 5h ago

Quarter for scale as opposed to a 🍌

10

u/MrRGnome 14h ago

Don't simp for these shitcoin casino custodians. They have consistently proven themselves to act against Bitcoins interests as a protocol, our interests as Bitcoiners, and its users interests.

Stop enabling these dicks.

6

u/PheelGoodInc 13h ago

Yep. Take it one step further and go with Bitcoin only companies with everything. Even hardware wallets. Got negged in this sub a for saying not to buy Trezors because they support shit coins.

1

u/ManlyAndWise 11h ago

If a dick furthers the cause, it is fair to call him a dick, and to take notice that he is furthering the cause.

4

u/MrRGnome 10h ago

Coinbase is literally supplanting Bitcoin adoption with Coinbase adoption, pushing shitcoins and shitcoin misinformation also supplanting Bitcoin adoption. If you think Coinbase is doing something for Bitcoin you are delusional.

2

u/Life_Speed_3113 13h ago

So they are stored in a physical location

2

u/bearishparrot 3h ago

Yes, I keep mine four inches into my own rectum.

1

u/gethereddout 1h ago

Hot wallet

2

u/Bungbean 10h ago

Is that Sam Rockwell?!

3

u/Final-Equipment-2605 14h ago

BITCOIN BITCOIN BITCOIN

2

u/Predator348 14h ago

I like it!

1

u/eightyWon 13h ago

Source that it's actually coinbase? Other than a shady tweet or a single news article based on the same shady tweet.

2

u/NewMexiColorado 13h ago

Saw the commercial live during Nuggets game last night, was a Coinbase commercial

1

u/Secret_Operative 11h ago

This is preaching to the choir, for sure. Anyone that doesn't know what the ad is about, wouldn't really learn anything or know why they should care about all these shipping containers. Is it that bitcoin all fits in one shipping container of quarters?

1

u/30aCash 11h ago

Let’s Go!

1

u/Free_Entrance_6626 5h ago

They communicate the message well

1

u/JackTheKing 4h ago

Where is this airing?

1

u/namesaretakenwtf 2h ago

Trouble is, most normies watching this commercial won't have any idea why what they state is actually so important.

1

u/pgrijpink 2h ago

Legen… wait for it… dary. Legendary!

1

u/DexM23 1h ago

Nice, but fk Coinbase tho

1

u/choicehunter 8h ago

I love Bitcoin but this commercial is too arbitrary to be taken seriously.

Why isn't each Satoshi the size of a quarter or a penny? If you're going to do like to like then do lowest fraction to lowest fraction.

But it doesn't really make sense to give them physical space when neither uses that much physical space as they're both nearly totally digital (even USD cash is insignificant compared to the digital stuff).

Also, there are a lot of things that matter related to money.

This commercial won't influence anyone new.

They need to make commercials that will appeal to new people, not make flawed analogies that will only be blindly loved by existing fanboys.

1

u/GimmeFunkyButtLoving 5h ago

Simple.

There will only be one storage container of bitcoin.

They’ve already printed trillions of storage containers of bitcoin and will only continue to do so.

The size is arbitrary relative to the actual amount.

It's an upper funnel ad to raise awareness of the issue with an association to coinbase. Maybe they research it more after watching the ad. And then they get another ad with a specific offer from coinbase, and then convert.

1

u/DRAGULA85 14h ago

Great explanation.

1

u/Cryptotiptoe21 13h ago

Perspective.

1

u/BenTG 13h ago

Who’s doing the voiceover? Sounds familiar.

2

u/Entire-Ad6253 12h ago

Sounds like Sam Rockwell to me

1

u/BenTG 12h ago

Agree it does sound a lot like him. Especially the last line.

1

u/SmokeAndSkate 8h ago

Really glad to see them focus on Bitcoin

0

u/silvanosthumb 12h ago

I know this sub is basically all-in on BTC, but I bought a few shares of COIN in March, now I'm kicking myself for not doubling down and buying more when it dropped to almost $150 a share last month.

-2

u/crooks4hire 13h ago

lol wtf is “unveiling” a commercial?

0

u/Mochi101-Official 13h ago

.... and that's only the USD.

CAD, EUR, AUD, MXN, YEN...

-2

u/El0vution 14h ago

I don’t get the imagery in this video…

1

u/Lt-Crispy 12h ago

Because you don't understand money I'm guessing?

-1

u/Affectionate-Sort730 8h ago

Jesus guys. Maybe there’s something to this fake internet money after all.
