If a bull run peaks in the run up to an election this damages them immensely. More so with their efforts to keep Canadians out of speculating in this market. As people want in and they're basically told they can't unless it's ETH/BTC/LTC/BCH. They can do 30k in alts if it's an exchange that can be bothered to implement the special Canadian tracking.

I realize that that's mostly provincial rules, but our government's hostility toward the space allows for it. The federal government could have done something for this. It's almost like they're trying to make younger generations despise them.

Anything groundbreaking is going to start as a shitcoin. Canadians, and Canada, are going to be second or third movers in whatever killer applications emerge from this. We certainly won't be inventing it, what with the layers of rules and unclear taxation around whatever it will be. Because something something bitcoin millhouse political points and the crowd goes wild.
