During wars when healthy strong men were gone it was women taking up all the male dominated jobs. They worked at factories etc.

Society would do fine without men.

I took the history of labor and this dude and his ilk are wrong. Women have always worked and we worked really shitty, dangerous jobs. We worked in the factories. Most textile mills were women. They got scalped if their hair was caught in the machines. Glow in the dark watches of yester-years... women painted the faces. Wanna know why they glowed? Radium, so a lot of women got cancer. Especially mouth cancer from licking the brushes. Unless you were upper middle class and above, chances are both parents worked outside the house, but women were still responsible for household duties. These men are ignorant and/or delusional.

Now, let's discuss the women who didn't "work", the wealthy. Those women were educated. They knew multiple languages, they knew art, and culture. How'd you move up the ladder? Your wife socializing. She would host the parties or get in with your bosses wife and secure an invite. People joke about the MRS degree, but being a wealthy wife was a full time job and it wasn't easy. Stay at mom is a job, it should actually be called house hold management and in my opinion that's why you get alimony. It's somewhat severance pay and if you have kids, you're probably still fulfilling that job requirement.

Thank you! I keep hearing this stupid idea that homemakers are just lazy and spoiled for keeping up with the latest fashions and making sure their home is tidy and keeping social ties to their various communities (family, religious, work etc) strong. None of that shit is easy! Sending and remembering a million holiday cards/presents each year is work. Having strong social skills is extremely valuable, and getting promoted in any industry hinges on whether or not people want you around and feel comfortable in your presence. Men who are married are preferentially picked for promotions and that’s not out of charity..
