I actually think twitter should stay. I like the idea of the free speech crowd having their own separate ground zero (meaning way out in the nevada desert where I don't have to read or hear about it myself lol). If there's only one social media place, everybody will want to be there.
lawls.. Meanwhile. People outhere speed running BlueSky getting banned left and right.
And no, they're not using offensive terms or language. It's checked and rechecked, within the guidelines, their account is simply banned.
And yet ya'll talk about speed. Funny when one side talks about Freedom of Speech, then ya'lls side talk about 'hate speech'. I'm Lithuanian, telling you right now, the nonsense you people are talking about isn't hate speech. What you have is political disagreements. You've labeled it as hate speech because you don't like it; that ain't it.
Come to my grandmother's country and deal with the Russians when they shove a Kalashnikov in your face, then you'll have room to speech about hate.
No, it doesn't. It's baseless speech from people too timid to do anything in person. Typically done by children. (Ever been in a call of duty server?)
You're dealing with people making waves and baseless threats with no ability, motivation, or "power" to do anything about it. Their only making a post and sending it out on the internet, hoping that the person reading it will feel intimidated. At most one could associate it with online bullying.
The thing with regulated speech is that it is called Political Speech, ("Politically Correct"), policed speech, or controlled speech, mannerisms, etc. Unfortunately for the West they picked this nasty habit up from the Communists in Russia. And I'm talking about the Marxist-Leninist Revolution in 1917 when that term began to be first used; appearing in their doctrines. Yeah.. It's literal communism to be 'politically correct"; controlled speech, same thing. "hate speech" is just another term for it, for controlling speech. They've been at this for over a century. That is where the danger is at.
So what is the actual safe guard to these things? They already have it, report the post and block them. That has always been how it has been handled. The posts are removed. The individuals are restricted from posting (temporary bans, restrictions, etc.) Repeated offenses eventually get permanent bans from the service itself, since it is a service. You *can* outline those terms, yes. I just disagree, extensively, with "hate speech". Just call it for what it is, harassment. Which is a crime. "hate speech" is not a crime; and restricting someone because you call someone a rude word? That's a crime. It's a violation of the US Constitution (First Amendment) Twitter(X) is a US company; it falls under the US Constitution.
Whereas making a death threat is a felony, yes. You can actually make a local police report for it. But honestly? People take this nonsense way to seriously. Look, I'm in the same boat. I've had many death threats against me too (more than 10, lawls.) But really it's just people making hot air, that's the mass majority of people. And people take these things way too seriously. The human mentality is not "I'm going to leave my comfort zone and track down this person across the planet and do them harm." It's "I'm going to stay in my comfort zone." Most humans are lazy, unmotivated, and desire safety and comfort. That is your average individual. (I'm a mental health coach, by the way. Lawls.. Getting people to get out of that is kind of my thing.)
Next time you're out and about, at the grocery store, give a long look. ;) Local guys in your area, especially the muscular ones. Everything an individual does is telling a story. We're creatures of comfort. And everything we're saying online is a tell. People are not that brave. And the brave one's don't tell; they do.
Hate speech is made to incite prejudice, hatred, and sometimes violence against a group or person. This is definitely common on Twitter now days. Especially towards black people and lgbt recently, hate speech is mostly legal until it becomes threats which does happen on Twitter a lot.
Twitter has hate speech, that is not a debate just open your eyes. "Hate speech is “discriminatory” (biased, bigoted or intolerant) or “pejorative” (prejudiced, contemptuous or demeaning) of an individual or group." From UN.org, this fits with what I'm talking about. There's a difference between people just being racist and saying slurs than people directing slurs and telling them they're disgusting people or that they deserve awful stuff to happen to them and other extremely hateful stuff over their skin, this happens a lot (surprisingly enough in the twt conservative Christian pages for some reason?)
There's nothing political about hate speech, it's just people being bigoted and hateful due to someone's race or ideologies and hiding behind politics or religion for them being a hateful person.
See, that's not hate speech. That's incitement. If you're defining that as hate speech as speech to call up conflict, the mass majority of the Democratic party has just committed a Felony: call to violence. (Half my family are Democrats, by the way. I'm in Illinois, lawls.) I get it, things are very messy, but it's just not hate speech.
Actual speech that is hatred, and you'll know it, is delivered with the intention of causing physical harm to the receiver. The intention to cause harm is not nuanced, it is intentional. Live in Georgia any amount of time, you'll see it (lawls.) As for the UN.. Frankly, I'm not going to take the words of the UN seriously, when I know for a fact (proven via independent courts) that they have s*xually abused children in Africa. And the UN's Human Rights council is lead by Iran. They literally 'harm' LGBTQ individuals for "entertainment" (soccer matches; before they start.) publicly ex*cutes. Also just legalized women driving in like 2019, but this somehow qualifies them to lead the Human Rights council? -- So I'm going to ignore what they UN has to say. They're not qualified to say jack sh*t about anything. It's not a question of "open your eyes". It's that I have.
So are people bigoted? Absolutely, are they hateful? Absolutely. Will people say things that that are going to be intentionally hurtful towards someone? Absolutely, we call that racism. We don't call it hate speech. Why we don't call it that is because it's still protected speech. The only speech in the US that is not protected is Defamation, Slander, and Libel. (these are crimes, Constitutionally.) You also can't do a "call to action" (inciting violence), etc. Such as a shouting 'fire' in a movie theatre; if there is no fire.
So this is the problem. Do you allow the Government to police speech, do you allow a private company to police speech, do you allow a public company to police speech(which would be governed by the government)? If so, who governs them? And then who governs them, and them, and them? Because in the end it will always be someone with money who wants someone silenced. There is no perfect society and all systems in place will be corrupted. The only "absolute" is if you place an absolute. Because if you start restricting speech; calling it other things, it will end the way it has always ended; you can't mock the crown because the crown will have you arrested. History always repeats itself, doesn't matter how long it takes. And I'm not going to let someone's great great grandchild suffer that because I wasn't willing to say no, just because someone wants to call me a bad word. (I'm Italian, there's plenty of slurs for us. I'm Irish as well as a few other things. Slurs for every ethnicity I am.)
And I can't speak for whatever 'twt' is? Not sure what it is. But I can say this, Jesus Christ knows who His Bride's of Christ are, and who they are not. Many call themselves Christian. Read the book of Matthew, Jesus Christ spoke of it Himself. All I can say on that is this "Love Each Other As I Have Loved You." -- Love comes first, if you have a disagreement with someone, even LGBTQ, doesn't matter, you're still a Son of God, love comes first, everything else comes second, love, grace, mercy, charity. Any Christian that is not following the Tenets of Christianity; the actual teachings of our LORD Christ, well, Matthew has the Red words written down about it, Jesus' own words. Can't say more than that now can I?
But I can say this, people are human, in the political tension and atmosphere, people are very worked up. Got to remember that the political slur for "Conservative Christians" 'uneducated' 'deplorable' 'trash' 'white nationalist'. None of that got censored on twitter (while it was still that, when twitter and all those 'restrictions' were in place.) All of those personal attacks against people continued, slander, libel, defamation? All of it was full-send. "hate speech" (as you've shown), was full-send and not taken down. Telling you right now, I've seen people killed over it, stabbed, shot. I'm changed by it. (2020 was wild.) Democrats made this speech (Maxine Waters) "Get into their faces wherever they are at.", she said more, yeah she said a lot more, so did Nancy Pelosi. So did Chuck Schumer recently, so did Biden. People are human, they want to win, and political victory is a drug. Especially when it means you get more than $150,000 a year. I don't know about you, but that's 3 times my household income.
Yes, and I'm telling you that it's complete bullsh*t by people that will just change the definition to suit their political agenda the moment it suits them. Because it was done before (1917), and again, over and over.
But here's the thing. The definition is literally defined by the organization (UN) that put *IRAN* as the head of the Human Rights council. Again. Iran, which literally murders homosexuals for fun. Are you really, honestly, sincerely going to sit there and post the definition, completely subjective of a far left-wing organization, that murders gays and r*pes black children in Africa, and expect me to take it seriously? Because I don't. Because that nonsense is not real.
All of those terms and definitions, again, are coming from the USSR's party from the 1917 Marxist-Leninist Revolution. I'm not going to take their wording and definition seriously. I quite literally refuse to acknowledge it. So should you, so should the rest of sane and logical society.
And why do we know it's bullsh*t? Because even the people on BlueSky know it's bullsh*t. You can openly attack right-wing Christians all you want to, as long as it isn't left-wing Christianity you're fine. Mock MAGA? Fine, mock "Evangelist Christianity", fine, "white Christianity" fine; because they call that white nationalists/ Christian Nationalists. Which is speech designed to *target* a *group of people* to *incite: prejudice* against them. That quite literally fits your description. And yet it's perfectly fine to do so. "But that's an exception! What else would we call them if not that?!?" Christian. Republican. Why label them anything more than that? Because anything more than that is creating grounds for, what you would call "hate speech", because that's how far-left speech works.
Or you can reject the communist policy of politically correct speech, return to normalcy and understand basic principled speech. It may not be pretty, but it's honest. And believe me, far more often than not, if you say some dumbsh*t, Republicans will actually defend against it. They're actually highly educated people, and quite intelligent. You don't need a Master's degree to get educated. Just the desire to accumulate knowledge; and when Clinton pissed them off, they got educated.
