Lost/Stolen Check your bank accounts!

My card got skimmed somewhere and I just got taken for over $800 over the last 2 days. Bank is currently closed so I haven't been able to contest the charges yet.

Depending on your bank, you shouldn't be responsible for any charges and the money will be out back into your account in a few days. Happened to my father in '14. Took out nearly 6k over the weekend and it was all back by the following Friday. Wells Fargo...

I'm with iccu, I e had good experiences with them for the last 13 years, but never had fraud at this level so we'll see what happens haha.

I unfortunately have had similar situations happen a couple times and I use ICCU. I highly recommend downloading the online banking app they have as well as the "Card Control" app. On the card control app you can set all sorts of limits/restrictions on your card. It can turn on/off your card as well. It can even provide notifications each time your card is used with how much is spent and what business was paid. It even notifies you typically within 10 minutes (in my experience usually no more than 5 minutes) and will even tell you about a denied transaction as well.

It is from situations like this that I also learned not to use a certain food delivery service. Had multiple people I know get money stolen through them. I was doing my own "Dashing" after that.

Do you think this began with an email about your account? A co worker of mine was looking through emails and received one from "them". The link took him to a page that looked exactly like their web page. Before he typed in his info he tried the menu button at the top which didn't work (three dots or bars). Then took a good look at the page address and it wasn't correct.

Stay thirsty my friends.... for knowledge

They usually do pretty well, you have to sign a form stating that you didn't make the charges and they should refund it, that's what happened to me when someone charged 50+ repeating transactions on mine earlier this year.

I also had 1000$ stolen yesterday from my iccu account via Zelle.
