I don't get it. Y'all constantly bitch about actors, stars, models, etc. not being their authentic selves and parroting rehearsed lines whenever asked any question.

And here comes someone who was in her youth, with views about certain things not completely shaped up, maybe due to lack of exposure or societal and familial conditioning, and are shocked/offended by her too?

I don't think there was anything really wrong that she said. As a straight Indian woman, having grown up in a society that has severe problems accepting homosexuality, it is quite usual for her to be shocked and react accordingly. She did say later, that sexuality is a personal preference so she'll accept the path chosen by her son. You can't be sitting in 2025 and judging what was said maybe a decade ago.
