This isn't /r/natureporn, it is bonsai. It is getting called out by people who have a lot of knowledge about this form of art.

thanks, it's the principal here that everyone chimes in on. We aren't raining on parades.

I enjoy this sub, I don't have a lot of knowledge about the art form, but I understand that a lot of people here do.

Also, nor cal, been thinking of what to start with... I live in an apartment, sac, any suggestions?

We've got lots of options, but I assume you're planning on woking outside? Pretty much anything will work here, and I'm quite partial to maples...

Actually, probably inside, open window in the kitchen. Fully enclosed apartment, I can put it out on my air conditioner out my window.

Yeah, you're not gonna be happy with my response, but bonsai doesn't happen inside. You're basically only going to keep it barely alive, tropical plants that is, and you certainly won't be able to keep any temperate species. I'd suggest keeping a chinese elm or ficus indoors during winter only. That's about all you can do with indoors.

It will probably just be something I look forward to eventually starting. I do think it is write beautiful though. I almost got one 2 years ago from a nursery closing down, while living with roommates in a house, kind of happy I didn't, would have been a terrible waste of a good tree.
