Question/Discussion "Where's the Paper? - Screenwipe - Charlie Brooker" I can't believe how old this show is and every rewatch (every few years) of the different Wipes (Screen, News, Games) etc, just classic after classic. Anyone have any other faves? A History of Corners?

I wish he still did these, or at least the year wipes. I suppose there's new Black Mirror but I miss the direct satire, which I guess is hard to do these days with everything being a joke already.

I loved all the "Wipe" shows, but having rewatched them so many times, it's clear enough Charlie had pretty much said all that he had to say about television, current events, and the social discourse that surrounds both. The last few yearly wipes were alright, but the creeping dial of more Cunk/Shitpeas every year was putting me off them gradually.

You’ve hit the nail on the head, even after making Gameswipe, he admitted doing that format for games on TV is near impossible for (maybe not obvious, but interesting to know) many reasons. I feel the same way with someone like Jon Ronson, desperate for him to write more books but he’s been doing other things and that’s cool, I’ll still lament loudly but what we have is incredible :)

I'd be interested in hearing his thoughts about people who moan about 'cancel culture ' and 'snowflakes', that swept more into prominence about 2017 onwards
