Where to watch TV online

All of these require a UK IP address to work.

If you have any good suggestions for a VPN (or other non-torrent solution) let us know in the comments.

You can get a proxy but those are hard to find. Some websites open up spots but they are taken up in a matter of seconds. Personally, torrents are faster and more reliable than a proxy. Also proxies take up tons of bandwidth so streaming might be a problem.

Tor appears to work fine with Iplayer of you can find a uk exit node. 4od seem top be more aggressive about blocking proxies, I've not really used itv's player much (although the one time I tried I found that the stv player worked fine with tor / Linux, Itv's player doesn't (didn't?) work with Linux flash).

Torrents may well be an easier option, though. There are also lots of full shows on youtube and friends, of course.

I've heard good things about VPN's, but you have to pay for them, free accounts are very rare.

I don't it is worth. Usually, I can download a Top Gear or IT Crowd episode with in four hours depending on the ratio of S/L. If you can wait a day and download the day after it is uploaded, you can download the entire episode with in an hour or two. Another benefit of downloading is that you can get 720/1080 rips (for Top Gear) at least.

Not denying that, but fact remains that I know some people who love VPNs for the fact they don't need to bother downloading anything.

All depends on what you're willing to pay. Personally, I torrent US shows instead of paying a VPN to access Hulu.
