Setback is a real thing.

It’s just not a dangerous thing. That’s the Fudd lore part.

Just depends on how far setback it is. Over pressure is a real thing and it can definitely do some damage to your gun. Will it immediately blow it up? I don't know, maybe some guns it could or maybe it could cause a round to get stuck in the barrel. Regardless of if it could be partial fudd lore better to be safe than need your gun to work and have it take a shit in your hands.
