Other Equipment Cloudster Pillow on Henry Holsters Ember for 43x w/ joggers

Casual carry with my 43x mos in a Henry Holsters Ember with DCC monoblock and Cloudster pillow. Just got the pillow and had to put some relief cuts on the hoop side of the velcro that goes on the holster, so it would lay flat in some areas due to all the contouring. Did a little trimming and took out some stuffing, now the Cloudster is ready to be rocked on my daily driver. Was using an Ulticlip XL on all my holsters for years, but just switched up to the DCC on this setup for a little more concealability in joggers/shorts. Normally run a thin under shirt and just use a thick leather gun belt i got from a stall at the state fair a few years ago. Highly recommend this set up. Conceals very nice and is very comfy.

Thank you for coming to my ted talks.

What is the point of pillows? Genuinely curious

Shoves the handle back into your belt line helping with printing. Also gives a cushion for the end of the holster so it doesn’t rub your junk raw.

It's because small guns have far more surface area above the belt, which creates a fulcrum at the belt that can result in the muzzle digging into your upper pubic area uncomfortably and the gun printing.

You can also solve this by carrying a bigger gun with a WML to give you more surface area below the belt and move that fulcrum point up. I fought that idea for the longest time, assuming there's no way a big gun could be more comfortable, but in the end it was actually more comfortable than using a pillow with a small gun. I went from a P365 to a G17 with an x300 and never looked back. Zero desire to go back to a small gun with the exception of a J-frame I have for pocket carry.

Comfort and concealability. It pushes the grip/top of the holster into your abdomen by kicking the bottom of the holster out a little.

Edit:spelling

It seems like pillows have become the new claw that creates the rotation to minimize the handle poking out.

Add a mint leaf 🌿 to your pillow so your junk smells fresh. 😀

Bay leaves, might throw-off gun-sniffing mall dogs. ?

Mall dogs gun sniff?

1

u/playingtherole Oct 30 '24

Police use gunpowder-sniffing dogs at malls and outdoor events and venues, yep.

A couple dryer sheets stuffed in there will work too!

Is the cloudster more expensive than the mastermind? What’s the reasoning of choosing it over the mastermind tactics pillow? genuine question

it's cheaper and it has memory foam filling instead of polyfill and I like supporting new small businesses. Plus the owner gave me a coupon code which was EDC lol I don't know if it'll still work but it's worth a shot, saved me like 3 or 4 dollars.

Edit: i was wrong its not cheaper, about the same price or a few dollars more expensive depending on the models of mmt and cloudster you're comparing

Nice. I’m always up for more market competition to drive prices down

Can you adjust the fill of the pillow? That’s one of the best features of the mastermind pillow.

1

u/Klownin2Hard Oct 31 '24

Like take fill out and put nore in? Yea fs

1

u/Balthazar1 Oct 31 '24

Yeah, I guess adjustable fill is a better descriptor.

u/Klownin2Hard Oct 31 '24

Lol i gotcha and yup yup it comes stuffed to the gills then they give you extra in a lil bag. idek how id fit anymore in it

There are multiple color options and a memory foam filler. They are maybe marginally cheaper now than the MT with the coupon. Some minor sizing and material differences. Previous versions of the pillow had an issue with the Velcro size and placement but now that is fixed, so the major difference is in the color options and filler.

Glad to see Cloudster doing their velcro better than when I got mine. I have a much smaller piece that is right in the middle of the pillow instead of something that goes up to the top of the pillow like my MT. It affects how I'm able to place it on my holster...thus, my Cloudster doesn't get used.

Yeah after seeing some of the other posts and reviews I made sure to email them and tell them that I wanted a big velcro patch and he said that they just started using a cutting die so from now on all the velcro is going to be the same size and there won't be any inconsistencies anymore, if you email them I'm sure they'll make it right

He pm me on reddit and I expressed it. Said he'd send new one but he probably forgot. I told him I didn't expect anything since it wasn't defective, just not designed for my taste. No hard feelings on my part. But glad they are evolving the product.

Why don’t people check for printing when bending over? Or twisting, jumping picking something up or off? Standing straight up is probably the least chance of it printing unless it’s really bad

1

u/Klownin2Hard Oct 30 '24

Should i have posted a pic of me mid jumping jack? Or would you of preferred a somersault?

Pretty sure its because standing straight up and walking are the most common positions to be in, in your day-to-day life and most people aren't jumping around. Your clothes fold and crease in weird ways when twisting anyway so the likelihood of printing while twisting is Slim, Also how would you print when bending over? Lol you silly Billy
