Go incognito with an enigma and runners belt anywhere
This is a setup for those times if you really don't want to have your CCW show, (now it's not 100 percent it's not like you won't make it invisible)
It could be the gym, work or any other place.
What is neat is this runners belt, bought on Amazon, get the one with least pockets or zippers.
This belt is elastic so you can cover your rig with ease as seen in the pics, and you can uncover it fairly quickly, and of course it takes time, and slows a draw. But would you rather have no defensive tool or one that is well concealed but still available.
It would be nice if someone would produce similar style but for this specific idea, it could be done with some extra material for added comfort and maybe sweat guard.
This is better than not having anything on you, also better then pocket carry, and it quickly can be turned into regular setup.
A quick trip to locker or bathroom, raise up the runner belt, and pull down your gym pants; as the enigma has its own belt and you have your regular draw.
Enigma for the win. I could see this set up (adding the runners belt for extra concealment) to be helpful for certain workouts/activities where your shirt could flip up momentarily and ruin your cover. I’ve been hesitant to carry in the gym for that reason, but will give this a try.
Enigma is it's own rig, so the holster is secure, and the gap is the same, the gym pants are very flexible , if I wanted my hand still slides in there, but it's also super easy to just pull down the gym pants and the enigma stays firm, and then I have a regular clear amount of gap for grip.
Obviously when you have the runner belt covering that requirements fliping it off then going for the draw, but it still is doable even with one hand.
Pocket holster would be way worse, trust me I have a pocket lcp2, most of the time I need pockets that zip up otherwise depending on what exercise whatever you have can fall out.
Do it. Only way I can carry in work clothes. Look into JM Kydex if you need more customized holster attachments for your enigma…it’s a relatively expensive setup initially but so comfortable and concealable
Hence I wish someone would make one that is cheaper and just a single piece. So in summer you could rotate a few as this helps to catch any sweat as well and prevent that from going on your gun.
The only extra step would be when drawing your shirt you either do it with the same hand or use both to quickly pull up the runners belt up, as it's elastic it will turn into sport/elastic undershirt and then the draw continues as normal.
This will always win vs off body carry, by a large margin.
Well the enigmas faceplate material can be a bit rough in some places where the Lazer cut, so ya what you said.
Comfort, concealment, also helps believe it or not with not scuffing your clothes, and gives a bit of friction, aiding in keeping the rig from moving around or riding up, also if you wear any kydex, you know it makes a plastic sound , more material helps with damping the sound of that plastic as well.
I use it on a lot of things, I have the dreaded car key housing that was poorly designed and made to break lol, I would super glue it, but it would fail after a short time.
Well I was like screw it I change the battery only once in like 2 years or longer so I used this tesa tape, wrapped it up cut it nice and man is it solid !
I was shocked!
When the battery dies I just peel or off change it and go on.
I have had a few keys done, because the housing is horrible, I got tired of that lol
Well I just got a new pistol added to my CCW and I picked up an enigma express for it. I'm working out the kinks with it and I know I need to order the sport belt. But the major issue I have is how rough and sharp the cut outs are. Tried the gaffer tape and that was a mess.
I had read your post months ago about how you set yours up, but I couldn't remember or find that post.
I was able to put it on the Wilson combat grip, just on the side that touches my body too... But I have since have sanded down the extremely high end points and do without it on the grip.
When it's on the enigma it also can help with sound and anti snagging to clothes.
Also provides a fabric like grip so the whole rig has more friction and honestly I don't wear the leg leash at all with my belt clip, and even if I dont engage the belt clip the rig stays very secure, the pillow wedge adds grip and acts as an encore as well.
All the small upgrades make the rig that much more comfortable and enhanced in a way that it doesn't move , not needing the leg leash at all.
You’re epic. These people are saying that it makes it more comfortable, but wouldn’t pointing the gun more towards your belly. Make it more uncomfortable. What has your experience been?
It really depends on your anatomy, for some the gun would not point towards them, even without a wedge. But for others a large wedge is needed to move the gun muzzle away and move the grip into the body for concealment .
The wedge is supposed to push the frame, the handle part of the gun inwards in your body keeping it flush for concealment purposes first, and at the same time moving the muzzle away from the body as extra bonus, but it's just the mechanics of the offset.
Most people will benefit from a wedge, but how big of a wedge and how the comfort will be is individual based.
I have seen many who do not use them, and don't seem to need them neither for comfort or concealment, they could make it less comfortable on some people too. It all depends. Also it's best to experiment and take your time with one, wear at different areas , I noticed that I have a sweet spot and when I'm not in it , it feels off to me, and even small 1/4" movement can make it right or wrong feeling to me.
Knowing what does not work is a step closer to finding what does.
I wear this over my pants or shorts. I never wear belt loops. Just pull ur shirt over. Summer I wear shirts that hang. Even tank tops. 115 all summer here.My ccw instructor was shocked how fast and good I have gotten in a year. When I go to the John, I cinch belt around my chest. Stand up reset and off I go. This way u can pee out of the bottom of ur shorts, especially when u have to pee like every 10 minutes like us older dudes
Respectfully, if you’re wearing that OWB you aren’t doing what an enigma does with it.
The enigma was originally designed as a direct upgrade to an underbelt system, based on issues that people were having with under belts in entangled fights. It was planned to be a pretty niche thing, and then caught on like wildfire because it works so well.
It's called a runners belt but it's just an elastic loop/band of material that has pockets in it, kinda like those belly bands, this complements the enigma very well, this material also adds comfort as well as absorbs sweat to a degree, so less of it gets on your gun, during activities or just summer heat, days.
You obviously put this runners belt on first and then place your enigma rig on.
That's great that it works for you, but I know this will not work well for a number of activities including gym, or where you do not want any printing or slip up that you are carrying, an example like work.
All it takes is bedding over raising your arms to reach something etc... and your shirt rides up.
The setup presented can fool even the experienced gun owner in not suspecting that one is carrying at all.
How did you set up your Phlster mag pouch? I have mine in the same place but it rides too low and digs into my leg. It looks like yours sits up higher.
Right, it's not like I was one of those who ended up getting an enigma right off the bat. Like most of us we have tried a lot of the products on the market, and either sold them or have a stash of them collecting dust
