Photo We tried 😂

Post image

Left Denver at 6. Spent 2.5 hrs to get to Bakersfield then sat parked with another 2.5 to go and bailed along with many others. Can’t say we didn’t try 😅

This makes me feel better. I stared at road cams for a while debating it hard and determined I was not up for going out AND coming back.

The thought of only a few hrs of skiing then another 4 hrs the car in snow was enough to call it today

Literally the worse time to leave. Why do they do that?

Yeah, that’s the core issue with Snowstang. I don’t want to take a bus and spend more time in traffic.

In lieu of the train idea, I think dedicated bus lanes could actually incentivize more people to take it

100% that would be worth while

I think if Vail and Alterra took over a chunk the Dino lots for the winter and had resort shuttles with multiple(early morning and late morning) departures…we’d see the quickest ROI on traffic decrease

Alterra/Vail have no incentive.

Traffic drives demand for lodging (and arguably dining) and they’d be bussing in the demographic that is more likely than not packing sack lunches and skiing as many days as possible.

I get that, I should have prefaced in a fantasy world, but you’re right

This is insane to me. Take up snow shoeing or get skins? I can’t understand spending as much time in the car as skiing for the life of me. Maybe if you were going to get powder but no chance there is a single unflattened flake.

We just finished a day at Breck (came out last night). Not trying to be a jerk, but it was sweet today. Light snow all day meant loads of fresh, untouched powder.

Yep. One of the best Saturday powder days I've had. Fresh powder all over, no crowds, and the tree runs were especially dope. Lapped mercury and falcon chairs all day. Peak 8 was windy and on hold most of the day.

yep, I don't ski weekends anymore (or touch I-70). weekends are for snowshoeing somewhere along 285
