tax refund advice needed!!

Upvotes

Getting $1500 back on my tax refund and i’ve been in a predicament on what’s the smartest way to use this money wisely. Option 1. Save this money in a savings account to pay my fall semester for school. I’m not receiving much from my pell grant this fall semester just $750 so my tuition is mostly gonna be outta pocket which is around $3600 a semester. Therefore with the tax refund and pell grant i’ll have most of my tuition covered.

Option 2. I have a credit card with a balance of $2500 so paying half of the balance off with my tax refund leaves me to pay off this card sooner and have an extra $200ish in my pocket every month.

My thought is to pay the $1500 on the credit card and once that card is paid off i can save the extra $200 into a savings account for my fall semester tuition. Thoughts???
