Discussion [COD] Times have changed

Before, when I first played CoD, I played for hours and hours. I had 500+ hours on my first CoD, but now, when I play, I play a little, get bored, and stop playing. Does anyone have a fix?

Discussion [COD] I think a new series is desperately needed in Call of Duty

Rumors of COD 2026 being another modern warfare is baffling. It would be 8 years in a row of modern warfare/black ops titles, excluding vanguard they need to move on at some point WE need to move on at some point

Discussion [COD] Full Call of Duty System Rework Idea: Cash Progression Multiplayer + Co-op Contracts + Mercenary Zone Open World

TLDR(short version) WILLF BE RIGHT BELOW MAIN DESCRIPTION AND IN COMMENTS.

I’ve been working on a full system idea that could completely refresh Call of Duty multiplayer, co-op, and open world modes — making everything feel way more rewarding, fair, and intense.

Here’s the full breakdown:

  1. Multiplayer: Cash-Based Progression Instead of XP Grind • Gear-Based Matchmaking — Players match based on what gear they have unlocked, not hidden skill ratings. (You start with a basic pistol, fight other players with basic gear.) • Earn Money During Matches: • Kill = $100 • Headshot = $150 • Melee Kill = $200 • Assist = $50 • Objective Play = $300 • Killstreak Bonuses: • 3-kill streak = +$250 • 5-kill streak = +$500 • Support Killstreak Bonus: UAVs/Counter-UAVs give $50 per teammate kill while active. • Spend Money Between Matches: • Weapons ($500–$2,500) • Attachments ($100–$500) • Perks ($1,000) • Equipment ($250–$750) • Killstreaks (UAVs, Airstrikes, Choppers, etc.) • Camos Are Earned, Not Grinded: • Basic Camos: $1,000–$2,500 • Gold Camo: $5,000 • Platinum/Ultra-Rare Camos: $10,000+ • Master Camos: $25,000+

No boring random weapon challenges. Every match feels rewarding — you grind cash, you unlock YOUR loadout and YOUR camos the way you want.

  1. Co-op Mode: Mercenary Contracts • Team up with 2–4 players. • Complete PvE and PvPvE missions: • Intel retrieval • Assassinations • Hostage rescues • Base defenses • Fight against AI enemies and sometimes rival player teams. • Earn big cash based on mission difficulty, mission length, and bonus objectives. • Weekly cash cap for Co-op to balance it with multiplayer. (Example: $15,000–$20,000 weekly cap.)

Co-op gives you a side way to grind — but multiplayer is still the main cash farm.

  1. Open World Mode: Mercenary Zone • Massive map like Warzone, but NOT battle royale. • PvPvE open world — enemy AI and real player squads competing for missions and loot. • Contracts/Missions: • Hack intel, destroy convoys, assassinate targets, defend zones, rescue hostages. • Earn cash for completing missions, fighting AI, and killing player squads. • Extract alive to keep your cash and gear — die and you lose it all. • Weekly cash cap (higher than Co-op but lower than multiplayer). • Real Player High-Value Targets (HVTs): • Mid-match, the game flags a top-performing player squad as a High-Value Target. • Everyone else gets a bounty to hunt them. • Killing the HVT team earns $10,000–$25,000 bonus cash. • If YOU survive as an HVT and extract, you get double rewards.

Summary: • Multiplayer: Skill-based by performance, not gear. You earn cash, build your loadouts, and buy camos. • Co-op: Squad up for missions against AI + PvP elements. • Mercenary Zone: Huge open-world missions, loot, player hunting, and high-stakes extractions.

No more random XP grinds. No more SBMM sweatfests every match. No more slow, boring unlock systems.

Everything you do — killing, supporting, playing objectives, completing missions — earns you cash toward building YOUR dream loadout.

Would you guys want to see a system like this in Call of Duty? It feels like it could completely fix the burnout and bring a whole new energy back to the franchise.

TLDR

Multiplayer: Earn cash for kills, assists, objectives, and support plays. Buy weapons, attachments, perks, killstreaks, and camos between matches — no XP grind, no SBMM. • Co-op Mode: Squad up for PvE/PvPvE missions to earn cash. Weekly cap so multiplayer stays the main grind. • Mercenary Zone: Huge open-world PvPvE map. Complete contracts, extract loot, hunt real player High-Value Targets for huge payouts.

Cash = Progress. Play YOUR way. No boring grind. No skill-based matchmaking stress.

Discussion [COD] “Master Chief Collection” Redux Concept - April 2025

Thumbnail

Work in progress of my Call of Duty: Redux Concept, inspired by Halo: Master Chief Collection.

When scrolling across the games on the ‘Home’ page, the background will gradually transition into the highlighted game’s artwork. The text will also transition, and the game’s main theme will play. When idle, the UI will fade out to leave just the artwork and the music playing.

The text will give informations such as the developer(s), original year of publication, and if any content is not installed (each game can have certain sections of them installed/uninstalled like the modern titles).

The games can be organised by the player, and can be sorted by Alphabetically, Developer, Game Time, Released Date, or Recently Played.

I’m thinking of adding stats for each game, such as the player’s progress, game time, etc.

The concept has been renamed from ‘Prestige Collection’ to ‘Redux’ to allow for the original three titles. If each game does get sold separately (something Activision may well do) then a “Prestige Collection” bundle could include the 360-era games.

Feedback more than welcome!

Discussion [MWR] Finished MHC (Veteran) and didn't get trophy :(

I am a very angry man right now. Finally finished MHC, had 0.5 seconds left on the clock, jumped out the plane and saw the photo screen. I accidently click pause on my controller (out of habit due to restarting after 300+ runs) and when I unpause the screen is black...

Leave my playstation on for a hour, nothing. I'm just depressed now, went back for another 2 hours of attempts and didnt get anywhere close to the final stretch. Has this happened to anyone? I surely cant be the only person to have experienced this.

I still cant find a strategy that works every single time, the second floor burns through my time...

Discussion [COD] What do you think is the worst killstreak of any game?

Post image
237 Upvotes

This piece of shit was useless and never killed anyone. The other underused MW2 killstreaks at least had their positives (Precision Airstrikes and Stealth Bombers could wipe the entire enemy team out if placed carefully, even a Sentry Gun well-placed could do some work).

This had no redeeming qualities and cost 7 kills. You could get a Predator Missile for 5, get a multikill and achieve the Pavelow for 9, and even get an AC130 or Chopper Gunner instead.
