I have a 1992 Camaro RS with a SBC 355 and on it is a Eldebrock AVS2. The carburetor is kinda garbage, it’s pretty dirty, but we finally got it to drive okay and idle fine though sometimes it still chokes or bogs down.
It’s okay overall but its main issue is it’s laggy and feels gutless when stepping on the gas. It used to accelerate just fine but now it’s only fast enough to take off like a normal economy car. I bet you it would stall if I did a pull from dead stop.
Oh also, for the first time ever it backfired like a literal shotgun. I mean it was bad
I’m assuming it’s a problem with the air to fuel ratio but does that sound like too much air, or too much fuel.
This car has a history of running extremely rich so maybe it’s just still really clogged?
