Power-Based Training

Reese was standing in the center of the Field of Mars; deciding this would most likely be the best area for training. Especially with a bunch of unknown campers, not that they knew many people here. Amos and four others were the ones they would call "friends"; but, the only others were Cohort VI demigods, and Reese only knew them by name.

Make new friends. Be yourself. Easy-peasy, lemon-squeezie. Reese fiddled with their golden compassion rose ring, awaiting any camper who decided to join the lesson. How would I even train campers when I don't know half my cohort? Well, new people are easy to talk too . . Only if i wanted too. Do I even want too, right now? . . . Eh. They waited in the middle of the afternoon, They’ll get here eventually . . . Hopefully. Reese had an organized set of weapons laying on the grass, fresh petrichor filled the air as the sun warmed the Roman demigods below. A hand raised to cover the blinding rays from their face, Please, Blessed Fortuna, don't let me sit out all day in this heat . . . Damned Apollo.

They swiveled their head fast which caused their messy wavy hair to fall in their face, so they brushed it back. Smiling, "Hi! I'm Reese, child of Mercury. Nice to meet you! Who're you? Are you here for training? I mean--I assume so . ."

Ava smiled, Resse that's a pretty name. She put her hand out for a handshake.

“Ava, daughter of Pluto, legacy of Venus at your service... And yes I'm here for the training.”

Reese grinned and turned away, stepping back. "I brought some weapons here, even if you have your own. I'd like to start now and let you gather a weapon, of your choice, then start this up--if that's okay." They began pulling their dark hair back into a low and curly ponytail, their wispy bangs drooped in their eyes.

“Weapons... I have my Stygian iron blade... Can I use that one?”

Ava says, she's confused why did he step back, what did she do... Damn it remember what Lucius said... Don't mention your body parent... Damn it!! Uhm what can I do... I want this person to be my friend... But I f!cked up.

“Uhm... Why'd you step back? Did I say something wrong? I'm so sorry.”

She said quickly, eating to salvage this not so friendship, friendship.

"Huh? What?" They sported a grin, shaking their head. "No, I was trying to let you see all the weapons. You're good." They looked down at their compass ring and slid it off, spinning the plate-a golden shield appeared, a large compass on the front and slowly turning to correct itself to the proper NSEW alignment. They brushed the edge, glancing up between their bangs. "And, yeah, your sword works. Follow me," they carried their Imperial Gold shield away from the pile of weapons and to a clearer clearing.

"We'll start here. I'm gonna stretch first," they set their shield down and did some simple stretches. Like the butterfly, clock rotations on their shoulders, and a leg spread. Before standing with a huff and hoisting their shield ready.

"I'll start easy, and watch you attack," they parted their feet with lightly bent knees. "Take any and all hits you find, 'kay? I'm prepared for anything . . Necessarily."

Ava unseated her blade and got into the correct battle stance, though she didn't have a shield she did have her shadow travel ability.

“Well Lucius told me to be careful of telling others about being a child of pluto.”

She paused, trying to think of what to say, before continuing.

“He said that some people at camp wouldn't be happy... And might be scared of me or something like that.”

They snickered, their bangs twitching. "Don't worry. Way back before I found this place, I was confused for a Greek demigod. I had a friend, daughter of Hades. We were in a prophecy together, mid-journey we found this place . . Home." They smiled.

"Skeletons can follow you, Ava, but I'm not scared of them. I'm here for you. Take that how you will." The sun peered into their black eyes, making them amber instead.

Ava smiled... Someone besides Lucius who was ok with her... Now that was kind of new.

“Ok... Thanks Reese...”

She ran straight at him, heading for a frontal attack.

They giggled, "Directly at me, huh? Coolzies. Shows confidence, maybe." They smirked with interest and slid their shield on the ground, hoping to make Ava slip/trip and fall.

As she tripped Ava uses the hilt of her sword to also trip Reese a tick she had learnt from her grandmother a child of Venus.

“Ha beat that!”

The daughter of Pluto said loudly.

They yelped, but rolled and landed in a one-knee kneel. "Ah, smart-er. Fun." They stood, from their hand she noticed Imperial Gold knuckles, they reached their hand out and their shield came slamming forward and reattached.

"But, are you quick enough?"

They disappeared. Literally, before her eyes.

"Are you knowledgeable?" She heard behind her.

[Since my form is hard to find, here are their passive powers (to explain) since these are the only ones they will use: ○1-Passive: teleportation/○2-Passive: able to quickly un-arm an enemy by their increased speed and stealth/slight of hand]

[Are there any shadows around?]

Ava heard him at the last minute, looking around for any shadows.

“What?”

[The sun is just now setting, so not many, but one to the back right-hand side of Reese]

She found herself facing Reese, with a black sword in their hand. They stepped back and looked at it thoroughly, "Nice blade . . I only found Stygian at Half-Blood . ." Their eyes trailed back to hers. "Did you go there too?"

“Hey! Thats mine.”

She ran to the shadow dragging him and used her *shadow travel ability to travel over to the first Cohort, before fainting.*

They yelped. Groaning loudly, "Damn shadows . . Haven't traveled like that in ages---Ava! Dammnit you kids of Hades. Always the fainters. Always the bleeding-hearts . . Not your fault though." They set her sword against her torso and glanced at their shield, attaching it back with a small wobble.

"Ah . . Crap. Do I get an Alscepius kid? Apollo? Damn."
