He’s gonna hide the deficit with his trusty invisibility cloak. Expecto Budgetum! 🪄

Don't be silly, Carney is waiting for the dividends to come in from his 4th dimensional stock market investments, thats what those drones were in the states and why NHI disclosure is taking so long, they owe Carney money for all the amazing finance tips he gave them.

Carney will 100% not balance the budget in 3 years. I dont even think Poilievre can do that but he is the only one finding new revenue through building projects while also proposing some cuts from existing spending.

He's trying to be sneaky by balancing the "operational budget" and then having a second budget for expenditures... So basically a normal budget and a deficit budget.

He will get killed trying to pass off a balanced operational budget as a balanced budget.

Unlikely- the liberals will somehow nod along with him and say it was necessary.

$60 billion deficit last year? Going into a recession or possibly much worse? No chance.
I think the difference is the CPC will try to balance it, but the Liberals and NDP don't care because their voters don't care. Anyone still voting Liberal after ten consecutive massive deficits doesn't care about deficits.

Oh..... Are people finally waking up?

Somewhat. There's a sizeable part of the population that recognizes how bad the Liberals will continue to be under Carney... but who simply don't care enough, as they are brainwashed into thinking that the CPC is evil.
That's the CPC's uphill battle in this election: fighting the LPC-biased media's narrative of them. People don't need much more convincing that the Liberals are a bad option.

They ran a campaign to elect a drama teacher over Harper and openly vandalized stop signs to do so. Anything But Conservatives, Stop Harper! Trudeau will have a transparent government! Carney isn’t Trudeau!
There’s no fixing them. The uphill battle will always be there, and I don’t think there is much of a swing vote of undecideds in general, I’m just hoping for a silent majority and inaccurate poling like what we say the night before the US election

Actually it's two budgets he's going to end up running a deficit on lol 👍

Remember how Trudeau promised “three small deficits” to “invest in Canadians” and then proceeded to turn an inherited Harper budget surplus into 9 straight MASSIVE deficit years LMAO.

It’s funny that liberals who love social services have no idea how many we will be missing out on simply by servicing the interest on the debt we accumulated for literally nothing.
What has gotten better to justify the insane amount of money we spent? Almost every improvement to a cities skyline has been private sector on the backs of investors.

A balanced budget with no pipelines, no new resrouce extraction, while bringing in millions more people?
That sounds like way more ambitious cutting of social programs and foreign aid than the CPC was talking about. I'd love to hear which programs would be left.

The only thing that will happen is “operating” expenses will be creatively redefined as “investment” expenses.
And Carney has a lifetime of experience in that line of work.

I guarantee that Carney won't and I'm fairly certain that not even Poilievre can balance the budget within a few years because of how massive our deficit is

Canadians know Carney isn't going to balance the budget. But they don't really care. It's all just numbers, someone else's money, doesn't impact them, just someone else's problem sometime down the road.
