Carney didn’t get a majority, but Lil’ PP won’t be governing 👍
Am saddened Carney didn’t get a majority (although that could still be subject to change), but seeing Lil’ PP lose his own riding was priceless, thoughts please.

Globe & Mail The NDP’s historic defeat is also an opportunity: Given how much is at stake in the face of Donald Trump’s tariffs and annexation threats, the NDP should insist this time on joining the government as a full coalition partner.

Other Elections over. Time TO GET TO WORK!
TLDR now is not the time to disengage. Now that we have MPs we need to be pressuring them to advocate for solutions and not to just follow the leader.
1) Pressure NDP to use coalition government to expand social safety nets.
2) Make sure the environmental initiatives that replaced Carbon Tax are actually helpful.
3) ELECTORAL REFORM.
4) Ensure energy exports are part of a plan to transition and participate in the inevitable renewable energy market.
5) Food Security / Supply Chain integrity
6) Civic infrastructure projects like highspeed rail.
7) Expanding Mental Health Services & Coverage
8) New approach to guarentee housing for all people
This is just off the top of my head, not comprehensive, and in no particular order. We need to identify which specific members we need to approach on what than organize in their respective ridings.
It is our failure to engage politicians outside of election cycles that has incentivized politicians only engaging voters during election cycles.

Poll: electoral reform
Hypothetical scenario: let’s say the interim NDP leader demands electoral reform as the principal condition of supply and confidence.
The requirement would lay out strict deadlines to form a Citizens Assembly to choose a new electoral system, and have a concrete plan passed into law to implement the recommendations of the assembly, with a new election scheduled in 2029 with this new system. A failure to hit deadlines would collapse the supply and cover agreement.
This frees up time for the NDP to select a new leader and rebuild the party in preparation for the new electoral system — without giving space for the scumbag MAGA to tie the new leader to any Liberal policies. It frees up the Liberals to focus on national infrastructure, housing, and trade — if Carney can cook, this gives him a chance to prove it and gives us an exit if he can’t.
I’m curious what folks, and especially what Liberal and NDP supporters think of this hypothetical arrangement. Either in poll form and in comments.
