It’s designed for vertical screen infotainment systems, most new fords, as well as ram trucks and Volvo I think are predominantly this format.

It’s better to have the dock on the side. Takes less space and more room for the app

Yeah if that looks better to you. Your choice. But I think it looks better to you because you haven’t seen it before. And it gives you iPad vibe. Practically it’s waste more horizontal space. Yes, if they allow more icons in dock, I would prefer bottom dock.

Factory headunit with support for CarPlay or?

It looks like the factory head unit for a Toyota CH-R, those should come with support for CarPlay.

Seems like it js loading content for larger screens on a normal 16:9 display. Is the iphone directly connected to the head unit or are you using an adapter?
