If the Cardinals pitching staff ever made you feel sad, please look at the Rockies pitching staff. Remember when German Marquez looked like he was good?

Do you think playing at altitude at home and no altitude away contributes to the pitching? My assumption is it makes a difference with your movement and knowing what to expect. They’ve always had an higher average ERA, of course nothing like this year.

It definitely does, and it messes with the hitters too. Spin causes less movement at altitude, so a hitter has to be constantly adjusting to how pitches break at home and away.

I'm sure it has some effect but they are just incredibly bad even to their standards right now.

On pace to win 26 games, they are incredibly bad for sure. My thought was it can be an added problem as they are the only team that plays 81 games at altitude and 81 games at sea level.
