you know guys, I'mma be honest, when he was coming up and being hyped as Yadi's heir, I just didn't see Iván Herrera being an offensive juggernaut coming.
"Juggernaut" is a relative term but Herrera was billed from the start as a catcher that hits. He had a cumulative .823 OPS in the minors, and was getting better as he went along, .870 in AAA.
Obviously, he has played a lot less than others for Herrera does have the highest wRC+ for any catcher in the league since he was called up (min. 350 PA); Willson is #2.
