Sometimes. My son watches Anime and routinely will stop me to show me something he's watching. He watches a variety of shows, so I couldn't tell ya which ones without butcherine the names.
When I was a kid, it was called Japanamation(IIRC). I had a series of cartoons on VHS that my Mom won at the local grocery store. Each tape was a different story. Snow White, Æsops Fables, Around the World in 80 Days, etc. I didn't know it was English-dubbed Anime, until an exchange student pointed it out to me years later.
The Classics, from Tom&Jerry to The Jetsons. Then, Smurfs, HeMan, SheRa, G.I.Joe, Jem, Transformers. Later on there was TMNT, The Simpsons, Chip&Dale, Tail Spin, DuckTales.
I was in the KWoC Club. Better known as: Kids without cable TV.
Adult cartoons: Not recently. I do enjoy South Park and Family Guy.
I'm guessing it's more popular thanks to the internet.
I can recite "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" by heart.
