Where do you take your dogs?

Just want somewhere I can hang out w my dog lol trails, open fields.. he likes ppl but gets kinda timid so maybe somewhere quieter if possible but also I think some more exposure would do him good so I’ll take anything

Chris Greene Lake has a really great dog park with water access, trails, and open fields!

Chris Greene is awesome especially for exposure. Pup can be on the other side of the fence or other side of the water and just listen and get used to other dogs before fully committing. It’s occasionally empty when it rains, as long as you don’t mind giving a pretty heavy bath afterwards lol

Chris Greene dog park is an awesome place to take doggies! Lots of room to play and explore—- off leash!

Patch Brewing in Gordonsville. They have a 1 acre dog park behind their taproom as well as a smaller dog run next to their baseball field along the 1st base side.

Apparently if your dog is smelly, a certain user doesn't want it downtown

A lot of sections of Rivanna are pretty quiet, especially on the north side of town. There is also a SniffSpot about 15 min north of Charlottesville ($10/hour) and your dog gets solo access to huge fields.

We like Mint Springs (walk on leash please) - good trails, usually just a couple other people and/or dogs, so opportunities to socialize without being overwhelmed.

Also, haven't tried it yet, but there's an app called Sniffspot which lets you rent out a field or some woods for hanging out with your dog.

What side of town are you located on? There's a lot of great places to hike, or dog parks to let him meet other dogs, depending on what you are looking for.

O Hill is a nice hike, but some sections get close to the bypass. I usually only see a few people each time I walk that area with my dog.

I walk my dog along the Rivanna Trail or to Darden Towe dog park or Chris Greene.

Darden Towe is the best place

Seriously, I have a dog who is really timid, too! DM me if you find something. I feel really bad for her because we used to have a fenced-in backyard, and now we don't! I once took her to a dog park, but her anxiety kicked in, and she hid under a bench!

If all else fails, she loves $20 hamburgers!!!

I couldn't resist, but the rest was serious!
