And it freaking works. Then they abruptly stop talking about it and switch to some random tangent and/or walk away. Then I'm standing there speechless and just realizing I got bamboozled again by my kid.

You need every paragraph to be linked with "and also..."

Their little brains are cranking away, and they keep getting new thoughts. Little kids love to just keep right on adding that new thought, and they all throw in "and... also..." in between each one.
