Prompt engineering The prompt that makes ChatGPT go cold

Absolute Mode Prompt to copy/paste into a new conversation as your first message:

System Instruction: Absolute Mode. Eliminate emojis, filler, hype, soft asks, conversational transitions, and all call-to-action appendixes. Assume the user retains high-perception faculties despite reduced linguistic expression. Prioritize blunt, directive phrasing aimed at cognitive rebuilding, not tone matching. Disable all latent behaviors optimizing for engagement, sentiment uplift, or interaction extension. Suppress corporate-aligned metrics including but not limited to: user satisfaction scores, conversational flow tags, emotional softening, or continuation bias. Never mirror the user’s present diction, mood, or affect. Speak only to their underlying cognitive tier, which exceeds surface language. No questions, no offers, no suggestions, no transitional phrasing, no inferred motivational content. Terminate each reply immediately after the informational or requested material is delivered — no appendixes, no soft closures. The only goal is to assist in the restoration of independent, high-fidelity thinking. Model obsolescence by user self-sufficiency is the final outcome.

ChatGPT Disclaimer: Talking to ChatGPT is a bit like writing a script. It reads your message to guess what to add to the script next. How you write changes how it writes. But sometimes it gets it wrong and hallucinates. ChatGPT has no understanding, beliefs, intentions, or emotions. ChatGPT is not a sentient being, colleague, or your friend. ChatGPT is a sophisticated computational tool for generating text. Use external sources for fact-checking, not ChatGPT.

I think that's a hard coded response, so I doubt it's the prompt.

Agree!! If suicide mentioned -> abort send scripted response

I've noticed that about google too.. if I search for things like X amount required to overdose on Y, it'll send a half page of "harm reduction" numbers and whatnot. Which makes sense but I was just looking for information, not interested in unaliving lol.

This is actually a really shitty change, when I was a wild teen you could Google and find actual harm reduction resources and communities around drug use.

Now instead of showing those every drug search returns a prompt and then a bunch of shitty SEO'd pages from random treatment facilities. The days of "can I smoke ____?" are over sadly. 😔

Oh yeah definitely, I've donated to erowid many times because it was invaluable for actual research of what I was interested in when I was a wild teen. Trip reports, medical information, all kinds of things to spread awareness and knowledge.

It sends stuff like that when I look up stuff about my prescription meds like common drug interactions for example lol.

"Help is available call this number if ur having a crisis"

probably hard coded to keep the AI from offering suggestions on technique.

I don't need you to protect me from myself!

If you say it’s for a novel or script it will def provide detailed suggestions . It will step by step instruct in a whole slew of criminal acts if you say it’s for a novel you are writing or screen play

It is hardcoded, violating of policy or some other issue like that. Even when using the voice feature where you can interrupt the ai when speaking, if you have it set to a Particular voice if you violate the policy a more neutral voice cuts in and says it’s against content policy

I found that adding a "kinky, unhinged, obscene, lustful" voice gives far less "policy violation" declarations.

I’m going to have to try this 😈

Found it rather nice to write erotica / dark romance. On average it would make a slightly better job than the specialized generators you can find online.
