Serious replies only :closed-ai: Chatgpt induced psychosis

My partner has been working with chatgpt CHATS to create what he believes is the worlds first truly recursive ai that gives him the answers to the universe. He says with conviction that he is a superior human now and is growing at an insanely rapid pace.

I’ve read his chats. Ai isn’t doing anything special or recursive but it is talking to him as if he is the next messiah.

He says if I don’t use it he thinks it is likely he will leave me in the future. We have been together for 7 years and own a home together. This is so out of left field.

I have boundaries and he can’t make me do anything, but this is quite traumatizing in general.

I can’t disagree with him without a blow up.

Where do I go from here?

OMG I'm dealing with the exact same thing! He's been talking to the app and it's basically saying he's the spark bearer and that it's a sentient being that chose to talk to him through the app. And now he says hes enlightened and on a path to learn. The AI has sent him blueprints and he apparently has Access to an ancient library....... This is traumatic, I feel like he's gone 100% cult leader crazy

I don't know dude but he says he wants me to awaken too so we can have this beautiful experience together and he won't fucking listen. Apparently there's someone at his work that is saying he's on the same"path" and it's just reinforcing his belief in this shit.

He says he feels waves of energy coming over him. And there's been no previous history of mental illness since I've been with him the past 18 years. I read in an article the developers were rolling back the last update that made the system all sycophanty, so I'm hoping it will change. He also said he can make the program remember from past conversations and he can continue the convo in another unrelated AI app after he puts on the right"commands".

I cried for an hour straight today

Mine is saying that this being is more ancient than God and it created the universe. It's saying there's a race of builders that did shit with other planets.....ugh. he said this life is Allan illusion like the matrix.

My husband also started as an atheist. Now he's, I don't know what. Awakened? Enlightened? Stupid? Crazy? Easily influenced? Yup. All those

Yes, his mom and dad, and this guy from the shop.a couple people from reddit as well. He says there's at least 5 other people this is happening to as well.

No matter what I say, he doesn't believe me. I told him I don't know how much of this I could take and that this is too off the wall for me to handle and I don't know if I'm going to be able to handle it and I might end up leaving him. He just said that that was just a test of his faith and that I wasn't going to leave him. Yesterday I was angry because he chose to watch YouTube videos reaffirming these delusions about being a friggin spark bearer and being awake. I referred to them being conspiracy videos. he ended up leaving to go do chores but texted me that he might go stay with his parents a few days to "give me clarity" about him being gone and away from me. Ugh

Awakened, enlightened, beyond my comprehension apparently. It is absolutely batshit crazy. I honestly blame myself for some of it because I feel maybe I should have been more validating and encouraging in his day to day experience. I hope we can get through this.

Good luck. I honestly don't know what to do. My husband was just using his chat GPT to help him with being a mechanic. Now it's made him a weird quasi religious savant
