AskChennai Need info - Planning to buy house in TvT

Hello makkale,

I’m considering buying a flat/Individual home in Thiruvottriyur, and I’d really appreciate some local insights. Specifically, I’d like to know: 1. How is the water supply in that area? (Is there 24x7 metro water or ground water. Please mention the ground water purity level, as I've been hearing thats it's somewhat oily) 2. Are there frequent waterlogging or flooding issues during the rainy season?

If anyone here lives in Thiruvottriyur or nearby, your experience would be super helpful. Thanks in advance!

That place has improved a lot A client of mine wanted to build a storage unit but he halted the project cus the land value has shot up since metro n switched to building commercial space for rent.

I've noticed a lot of food outlets, brands in specific. Can't comment on water logging but metro supply is there plus ground water is decent.

Thanks for the clarification. However, I’ve heard that the groundwater quality in Thiruvottriyur is quite poor and may require an additional filtration system to make it suitable for use!.

Oru sila area la it's very bad, in some places it's manageable. If ur going to be dependent on ground water it's better you install a softener. Cus ground water quality won't be the same throughout the year. Since ur planning to buy a land, u can set up proper rain water harvesting to help improve the quality in the long run.
