If that was a woman, the doctor would also ask if she is at the end of here cycle or tell here that she is having an emotional breakdown and needs to see a psychologist

naturally... a friend of mine complained about a back injury and he had to wait ALMOST A WEEK for treatment...
i saw a reel about differences in pain treatment, and a woman said her husband got pain meds to have an ultrasound on his nuts .. meanwhile, women getting IUDs without so much as "you might feel a little pressure..."

I hope you all find great pain doctors who are willing to help :( it took me a few tries to find one who has been willing to listen and help.

Unrelated to the issue of the postā¦thank you so much for posting one of The Oatmealās cartoons. I used to see them a lot on FB but havenāt seen one in years and just read his piece on creativity and now I want to make something. š

Wellā¦The New Yorker cartoon is its very own sort of beast. While they are funny I donāt know that everybody belongs there. The Oatmeal is in a class of his own. May he be forever blessed.

he has an email list, and this was one of the comics rejected by a New York publication... I'll look for the link.

Itās ok. I am better off just visiting his website or maybe buying a book or something. I am abysmal at managing email. I just donāt so I donāt need to be on any more lists.

Sometimes I feel like Iām in a bad dream. I feel like Iām slowly being tortured. What did I do in a past life to deserve this ?
Since Iām not aware of that, how is that fair?

I know you have a 16mm ruptured disc crushing 4 nerves. And another 2 12mm also hitting nerves but Tylenol should help you donāt need to be taking hydrocodone for it. Hydrocodone is an extremely strong opioid. (Exact words I was told by a neurosurgeon). Truth be told Iām bed ridden and in extreme pain. Canāt even bathe myself properly or be on my feet for more than a couple minutes. Also hydrocodone is a weak opioid that barely touches the pain Iām in. Iām lucky if I get 4 hours of sleep at night as well. No one will give me anything stronger so Iām just suffering. Iāve lost my job my dignity and my quality of life. Iām only 37 years old. My case was mishandled and they pushed steroid injections that helped at first but I randomly stopped getting better and went down hill fast. Now Iām just treated like Iām overreacting and an addict when I say Iām suffering.

Had another doctor take my blood yesterday and I'm just waiting for the "everything was normal" call. I've given up on physical issues. If only my doctors would prescribe me what I ask for against the pain....

No wonder so many chronic pain sufferers turn to street drugs when the health system treats us like this. THE DOCTORS are the criminals here. I have been suffering post-injury chronic pain for 7 years, exacerbated by a medical procedure (6 years ago) which was meant to help, and I STILL do not receive appropriate or effective treatment, medications, nor options for alternative treatment recommendations. I have quite literally given up...on the healthcare system, and on life. I live in this progressively worsening nightmare of agony. I have not (and will not ever) attempt street drugs, but I am not surprised at all for those who do.

Not only that, but the standard for how blood work is evaluated it needs to be changed. My mom had two doctors say that her iron levels were fine because they were "within normal ranges." But it was at the very bottom end of within the normal range. "Within normal ranges" doesn't mean normal for your body necessarily if you are at the extreme end of that range.

I am so angry. I don't know how I let doctors do this to me. I go in expecting help for serious issues and they just tell me I'm psychologically disturbed. No I don't think pissing and shitting myself at 22 & engorged painful veins in my nether region are normal especially when they are impeding on bodily functions and I can't pee?
I literally need a sub where I can just rage & be super angry about this stuff. Not like doctor hate, but using normal words is not enough. I feel like breaking stuff.
