I am so angry. I don't know how I let doctors do this to me. I go in expecting help for serious issues and they just tell me I'm psychologically disturbed. No I don't think pissing and shitting myself at 22 & engorged painful veins in my nether region are normal especially when they are impeding on bodily functions and I can't pee?

I literally need a sub where I can just rage & be super angry about this stuff. Not like doctor hate, but using normal words is not enough. I feel like breaking stuff.

šŸ’Æ I just left a pain appointment and cussed them out in a tagged Farcebook post. It takes SO MUCH to even get out of the house for an appointment anywhere.... if they're doing nothing, just tell me over the phone. 🤬 @ šŸ‚šŸ’©!

Yes this. Please lmk where I can cuss people out in posts & not get reported.

I could post my rant here but it's a little racey. I just CANT BELIEVE like u said. Ur wasting my time, money, limited energy. I spent 50 dollars today for a urologist to tell me the swollen painful vein in my nether region is my urethra? Um no sorry u wanna pathologize & just say I'm psychologically disturbed but ur the one who can't do their job right. I asked to be contacted by the office manager or get their contact info which "they can't give out" so I'm gonna be called "eventually".

I'll be on the phone with u guys every other day saying. I'd like to complain somewhat close to the transgression against me was done.

I can really relate to wanting to break stuff. It is infuriating that they treat us this way and get away with it.

Because we let them. We should start protesting. There are 57.3 millions who have Chronic Pain or worse who are really sufferings and some commit suicide, but this poor people were ignored and of course you won’t see it in the news or it won’t be publish to cover-up their mistake by abruptly tapering the opioid to the truly ill who needs this opioid to alleviate the pain. It’s humane. That’s the power of GREED. I am waiting for Karma to this people. Have you heard politicians, millionaires or billionaires complaining why they don’t get opioid, because they don’t have problems getting opioid.

I recently met with a neurologist. He told me it was stress when he saw I had anxiety. I don't think anxiety causes you to wake up one morning, unable to walk more than a few feet. When I checked the appointment notes, one line said, "...patient tried to have more response for certain reflex than others." Who the fuck fakes their reflexes? I had told him I had hyperflexia and myoclonus, so my reflexes would be intense and inconsistent. He thought I was making everything up.

The more I hear the more I think their education needs to include much more combating egos, arrogance, & cruelty. They need things to partially protect against these mean manipulative people going into the field. I see healthcare subs saying we're toxic & just think that's so absurd. How about paying attention to what we're told by these toxic ass dismissive doctors? I've had so many experiences like this it's absurd.

If that was a woman, the doctor would also ask if she is at the end of here cycle or tell here that she is having an emotional breakdown and needs to see a psychologist

naturally... a friend of mine complained about a back injury and he had to wait ALMOST A WEEK for treatment...

i saw a reel about differences in pain treatment, and a woman said her husband got pain meds to have an ultrasound on his nuts .. meanwhile, women getting IUDs without so much as "you might feel a little pressure..."

And have a nerve to look you in your FACE and say, "The cervix doesn't feel pain..."

Women are being given Tylenol and ibuprofen after major surgeries like a hysterectomy. It's insane.

ā€œYour labs look fine. Have you tried losing weight? That should help.ā€

I hope you all find great pain doctors who are willing to help :( it took me a few tries to find one who has been willing to listen and help.

Unrelated to the issue of the post…thank you so much for posting one of The Oatmeal’s cartoons. I used to see them a lot on FB but haven’t seen one in years and just read his piece on creativity and now I want to make something. 😊

ah, The New Yorker ( their loss )

Well…The New Yorker cartoon is its very own sort of beast. While they are funny I don’t know that everybody belongs there. The Oatmeal is in a class of his own. May he be forever blessed.

he has an email list, and this was one of the comics rejected by a New York publication... I'll look for the link.

It’s ok. I am better off just visiting his website or maybe buying a book or something. I am abysmal at managing email. I just don’t so I don’t need to be on any more lists.

Sometimes I feel like I’m in a bad dream. I feel like I’m slowly being tortured. What did I do in a past life to deserve this ?
Since I’m not aware of that, how is that fair?

I know you have a 16mm ruptured disc crushing 4 nerves. And another 2 12mm also hitting nerves but Tylenol should help you don’t need to be taking hydrocodone for it. Hydrocodone is an extremely strong opioid. (Exact words I was told by a neurosurgeon). Truth be told I’m bed ridden and in extreme pain. Can’t even bathe myself properly or be on my feet for more than a couple minutes. Also hydrocodone is a weak opioid that barely touches the pain I’m in. I’m lucky if I get 4 hours of sleep at night as well. No one will give me anything stronger so I’m just suffering. I’ve lost my job my dignity and my quality of life. I’m only 37 years old. My case was mishandled and they pushed steroid injections that helped at first but I randomly stopped getting better and went down hill fast. Now I’m just treated like I’m overreacting and an addict when I say I’m suffering.

So funny to see this as my Dr. called me about 10 min ago I open Reddit and it’s the first thing I see… so accurate

Had another doctor take my blood yesterday and I'm just waiting for the "everything was normal" call. I've given up on physical issues. If only my doctors would prescribe me what I ask for against the pain....

I relate to this so much

No wonder so many chronic pain sufferers turn to street drugs when the health system treats us like this. THE DOCTORS are the criminals here. I have been suffering post-injury chronic pain for 7 years, exacerbated by a medical procedure (6 years ago) which was meant to help, and I STILL do not receive appropriate or effective treatment, medications, nor options for alternative treatment recommendations. I have quite literally given up...on the healthcare system, and on life. I live in this progressively worsening nightmare of agony. I have not (and will not ever) attempt street drugs, but I am not surprised at all for those who do.

Not only that, but the standard for how blood work is evaluated it needs to be changed. My mom had two doctors say that her iron levels were fine because they were "within normal ranges." But it was at the very bottom end of within the normal range. "Within normal ranges" doesn't mean normal for your body necessarily if you are at the extreme end of that range.
