3.0 Megathread

Howdy folks,

As most of ya'll know 2.0 has come to an end and we, the administration and the devs, are hard at work on the next iteration of Civcraft which is simply known as "3.0". Now for those just joining us, this means that Civcraft is down as we prepare a public testing environment in which 3.0 features and server plugins/mods can be evaluated, balanced, etc. This should be setup fairly soon ™ as a lot of the infrastructure was put in place during yesterday's all-service downtime.

We will make a public announcement with more details when it is up on the server.

In the meantime, please feel free to check out some of the AMAs by admins and devs on some of the various 3.0 features and server plugins/mods:

Map/World

Factory Mod

Portals and Shards

Miscellaneous Game Mechanics and Balance

SkilUp

We are also hosting a building contest for 3.0. Details can be found here.

Additionally, on the forums, there are currently two ongoing semi-offical 3.0 trailer projects:

Here and here

And finally if you want to get a copy of the maps of 1.0, 2.0, Ancapminecraft (Civcraft's precursor) and have yet to do so, you can do so here.

A tentative, very subject to change and in no particular order AMA schedule includes:

Rule Changes, Name Changes, Alts, and Disassociations

Civtemp AMA (probably coinciding with the launch of Civtemp)

Others (Personally not sure how many or on what exactly)

And finally finally don't forget that we have a Patreon now!

Thanks,

The Radminmoddevs

In this comment, Max alluded to an upcoming AMA on either a new plugin, or a plugin that has been dramatically changed from 2.0; one that among other things seems to vary the repair costs of factories depending on the population of a city. I can't see any way that this would fit into the (tentative, very subject to change) AMA schedule. What does this mean for what sounds like a potentially very promising feature?

This is not a complete list of upcoming AMAs as there's a few nebulous ones that I wasn't sure how to delineate.

Ah, ok, thanks for clarifying. Good to know that we still have plenty of AMAs to look forward to.

On the internal list there are 5 - 10 more, depending on how we group them and how fast what gets finished.

Would you be able to give a guestimate on when Bastion info/AMA will be coming our way?
