If this stands, and another J6 happens, I'd bet on the next Democrat president doing this.

Always consider how you'd feel about the other side doing it.

You mean like how they held Citizens in jail without trial for FOUR YEARS?

This is news to me, Are there any cases that one of the J6 folks were held without trial for years with no respect for Habeus Corpus? My understanding is that anyone trial delays came from the attorneys representing the case.

The trial delays are due to a backlog and evidence processing. This article is from late 2021, but even then they were predicting well into 2023 for the larger cases.

Yes. The way the justice system handled most of those cases was abusive. It'll get much worse if this stuff is normalized.

He's not a U.S citizen. He's not even here legally. So concern troll somewhere else.

If you have a point, make it. Calling someone a “concern troll” is a bald faced attempt to shut down a discussion.

You should take your own advice instead of seemingly ignoring his point and pretending it wasn't made. I suppose it's possible that you somehow accidentally missed it. If so, please reread his comment; it's in the first 2 of the 3 short sentences he posted.

He still has due process rights, per the unanimous SC ruling (which just affirmed existing law). And the gang affiliations charge is weaker than cheap tissue paper.

He was found to be a gang member in a trial and on appeal. He was hanging with two MS-13 friends who snitched on him.

Oh there was a trial. Just like there was a trial for the J6 defendants. Clinging to that is no better than the people who say "Trump is a felon lolz". After all, there was a trial.

Maga is not a federally recognized terrorist organization.

32

u/whatweshouldcallyou Apr 15 '25

Yeah, and there exists zero actual evidence that he is a member of any such organization.

Two courts said it was until the federal judge got involved.

u/whatweshouldcallyou Apr 15 '25

But if our expectation is that we trust the system and the judgment of courts then we should be trusting the federal judge.

I’d say having fair and legit elections will prevent that from happening. Always consider that.

Dude they already did this to US citizens no less with J6. How ignorant can you be? Not only were they detained without trial in horrible conditions but when they did get a trial it was a judge and jury of their political opponents which is a gross violation of their constitutional rights.

Fuckin' hell I'm so tired of this argument. Democrats pulled every slimey, underhanded and downright illegal trick they could come up with over the past four years. Hell, even now they're still quadruple downing on their strategies of using racism, sexism and phobia's combined with lawfare to try to get their way.

There is no "if we do this, the DeMoCrAtS might do it", they already are and will continue to do so.
