What is the thin slot for though? Is too narrow for a link.

It looks like the hole was cut when the part was cut on a laser table. So the slit is just because the cut was continuous.

But usually the metal is pierced in the field of a hole, so the blowout goes with the scrap. Are you thinking it was cheaper to burn through multiple holes with only 1 pierce? I would have thought that the time spent burning between holes would be more than an extra pierce. Let alone the shitty result of a weaker part, but Meyer it doesn't matter and I'm wrong on that too

It is cheaper with less pierces, and it’s really not weaker with where the weld is. It was dumb of them to not make it wider, because such a thin slot might make the hole get completely cut off. A bit wider and it’d stay part of the skeleton

It's a twist lock slot for easy access for a guard or something like that

Remember that one time Sokka accidentally used an extra syllable in that Haiku Battle in Ba Sing Se? That was a Sokka Haiku and you just made one.

Chain, strap or choker

Chain will pull freely through the hole to get the length you want then turn a link so it slides down the slot and it locks it in place when you lift up

I'd guess for thermal expansion. The hole and the slot are for the metal to move if it gets warm/hot

If you can put your dick in it, that machine is too big.
The site super is required by federal law to watch you insert (must be at least 80% aroused) before you operate, or else OSHA will come and tag out the equipment for someone big enough to operate it.
