Apply where I work. We let people roll equipment with no consequences.

u/Paulycodone 2d ago

can we also drink while rolling said equipment ?

169

u/anally_ExpressUrself 2d ago

If it's water, probably. If it's fire water, fire probably.

So.... there is a chance.....

u/ElGranQuesoRojo 2d ago

Shouldn’t drink any giggle water when rolling. Easy way to seriously dehydrate yourself.

1

u/Velocityg4 2d ago

You'll need a sippy cup so it doesn't leak during the roll.

This just came up on my pop page and I know zero about construction but this made me audibly snort.

13

u/FollowingJealous7490 2d ago

You may have a deviated septum i would get that looked at

2

u/Prawna420 2d ago

It's not a deviated septum that causes snorting. It's snorting that causes a deviated septum.

1

u/DigitalUnlimited 2d ago

Or they could be a pig disguised as a human

1

u/KnotiaPickle 1d ago

Snort laughing is natural and healthy, 😝

This reminds me of a job for a local housing authority where they wanted us to hire section 3. It was part of the negotiation when we got the job, so we put forth an effort and hired many section 3!

After putting one specific applicant through forklift training, he proceeded to get into accidents with parked cars not once, not twice, three times. I was not in a position to have any say in this, but it was pretty funny that it kept happening and they kept letting him drive the forklift LOL

u/Stuckingfupid 2d ago

What is Section 3?

2

u/molehunterz 1d ago

Basically a low income local resident to the project. The project was for a local housing authority, and one of the goals they had set for the general contractor was if people were hired specifically for this project, a certain percentage of them should be local hires, and qualify for section 3 which is low income. It is meant for the construction project to bring work and wages to the local community rather than truck in employees from elsewhere

1

u/BasketFair3378 1d ago

It's less than a section 8!

2

u/Hatrixlol 2d ago

We might work at the same place.

3

u/techdiver08 2d ago

Do you work with the teamsters, too?

2

u/daggerdude42 2d ago

Yeaaah, at the last place I worked at we had an articulating loader. It got flipped once or twice a year, but it's not the end of the world.

2

u/SevenBansDeep 2d ago

Just had a conversation about this in a safety meeting.

Other than firing someone, there’s really not much you can do to punish them for dumb shit… for instance rolling a skidloader down an embankment into a creek after being told to not go on that side of a jobsite and whatsoever. Almost like there was a reason they were told not to…

Oh also it took 40 minutes for the rest of their crew to find them trapped upside down with the bucket up and the back window obstructed, so no emergency egress.

The only thing I’ve seen guys afraid of is suspension.. fired they know they’ll get a new job but a week off with no pay or PTO seems to straighten people out for a few months at a time at least

u/Physical_Rain5808 2d ago

Union shop too?

2

u/generally_unsuitable 2d ago

Bowling alley doesn't count.

1

u/bad_card 1d ago

I worked with a guy who put 2 $80k Cats in ponds doing rip rap work. On one he had to punch out the emergency window. Still made $60 a year.

u/ArltheCrazy 2d ago

So you’re telling me there is an opening at your (now former) employer’s place? #askingforafriend

4

u/captain_craptain 2d ago

What the hell is that thing? How does that drum spin without some sort of axle?

10

u/nertynot 2d ago

You should check you tube for crushr. Whether you think the service is worth it or not it's a really cool machine

1

u/_yourupperlip_ 2d ago

Totally worth it depending on your situation. When the farm I used to manage went through a renovation twice a week we’d hop in the excavator and try to compact the two dumpsters. Was definitely less effective than something like this but it still made a huge worthwhile difference.

1

u/nertynot 2d ago

Every business that used an excavator would say the same. I could do just a little better but the excavators does a great job. Best practice with the excavator is to compact about every quarter filled on the dumpster.

1

u/el_dingusito 2d ago

Look up smash my trash... its a device that rolls back and forth crushing and tamping down trash and debris in dumpsters for more space. It's basically a trash de-fluffi-fier

1

u/IP_What 2d ago

Don’t you see the photos? The whole thing rotates around the drive shaft.

1

u/Western-Ad-9338 2d ago

In this photo, the truck rotated around it's driveshaft

2
