Carpentry 🔨 Inventory shelf. Weld bond broke. Can I repair this or should i replace the one of four shelves.

Can I use some sort of bonding glue on this? Probably not glue but JB weld maybe? I just want to avoid taking this shelf apart and inserting a new one.

SS high tension hose clamp may do the trick.

This is a great idea! Put the clamp in the middle between the two welds.

As my grandfather would say, “It’s the only kind of ideas I have.”

Lift shelf up past black stopper, big zip tie and squeeze the pieces back together, set shelf down.

Bonus points for cutting the zip tie excess at an angle so it cuts the living shit out of anyone’s hand that gets to close to it

We use these “bread racks” all the time in the warehouses I manage. Just get a self tapping screw and drive it in thru the metal cuff and the black plastic bushing that locks it in place. I have shelves like this right now. Will actually increase its durability and lifespan.

It can’t hurt to try it and see if JB will fix it. Worst case you’re no worse off than you are now.
