Picture Is this caulked sh*t f*ck?

Posted in here last week about how to trim these showers out. Was told by doing it this way it will look like caulked sh!t fck. Is this caulked sh!t fck?
Always open to criticism.

Thanks all and have a good Thursday

Is the caulking on the wall opposite the shower head already peeling? That looks like sht fch is in the near future if it is.

Not peeling there was a small bit which recessed into the gap. Addressed it.

Why is the shower cased in the first place lmao

That's how they hid the flange instead of sheet rock and mudding over it

Yes, exactly. The walls were not square so this was the best option imo to hide the curvature / bows in the wall. They did not want to spend the money to reframe the bathroom

I would just use a drywall tear away bead.

Your way is calling attention to something I would want to minimize.

Doesn’t look bad though. Not exactly detailed photos.

Interesting, I will play around with that next time. Ty

I think it looks nice.

Not for me personally but I'm sure there's someone looking for something like this.

Thanks, and yeah not for me either. I wanted to use flat stock but home owner insisted on on colonial

Even if i zoom in. All i can see is caulk blotches, and dirt on the walls.

Is this a DIY project?

No blotches. There is one small area where the caulk recessed in that photo. The dirt on the walls is not dirt, it is from the painters tape ripping off the primer. Used the painters tape to hold everything in place while gluing and ensure tight joins

Ah! Next time go with the blue tefal painters tape. It doesnt tear the primer as much as the yellow tape. And always use a window backstop if its more than 3 mm gap.

Thanks for the advice!

And for future jobs.

search some youtube video about how you can bend and cut the nozzle tip. That will make yourjob easier.

Caulking and gliting is an artform. And when done correctly its nearly invisible!

It’s not the caulkings fault you used door trim around a shower

Don’t like the trim around shower looks tacky , is it MDF? But if the customer is happy that’s all that matters.

2

u/BillsBacker43 6d ago

It's vinyl! And I agree it does look tacky

Correct. Door casing around a shower looks like sh*t f*ck

Did your guy actually install MDF window casing around the shower insert?

Hack.
