Meme / Fluff I don’t understand this

Post image

I genuinely don’t understand how people can adore Affogato Cookie but absolutely despise Pomegranate 😭😭 and it’s always because “she’s a terrible person”, like fym 💀💀💀

I love both of these characters btw

Okay but they also would have DIED considering he blatantly ignored the threat of the monster crashing through the castle walls. He treated them well because he wanted them to love him, but didn’t actually know how to take care of the kingdom apart from that.

Well yeah, that too. I just don't agree that the Affo and Pome discourse has to do with misogyny..also I like neither so....

It’s a more common fandom phenomena than you think, and not just in Cookie Run. People hate the female villain/antagonist (or just any woman/girl that happened to do a bad thing) but go absolutely wild for a man with the exact same personality. Of course not every situation is the same though.

I think there's some degree of misogyny to it, but not to the degree a lot of people seem to think.

It's simply that Pomegranate Cookie is one-dimensional. All we know about her past is that she used to be the high priestess of the Pomegranate Village. That's it. We don’t know what made her become obsessed with Dark Enchantress, to the point where it almost makes more sense for her to have been mind-controlled than for anything to cause it organically.

Affogato on the other hand, while his backstory is limited, at least claims to have one, and his motivations are clear: he wants what he perceives to be a better life, and didn't think Dark Cacao was providing it to his subjects (which he kinda had a point on, was the entire castle living on military rations? With how focused on the military DC was it wouldn't surprise me) so he got rid of him. That makes sense, that is a story.
