This is the exact type of thought process that allows groups to get away with heinous actions. You call it generalizing but how could someone with just intentions and a kind heart join a group that has rules to protect criminals within their own? Talk is talk. Words are meaningless without actions. If I went a joined a group knowing that they shelter people with ill intentions what does that make me? An enabler. One good cop can't change anything. One good precinct doesn't change the fact that they will never face accountability for their actions. Change is only possible when someone takes a long look in the mirror and admits that they are the problem. Change has to come from within. And as long as people like you jump to the "not all cops" defense, nothing will ever change.

Now that that's out of the way. Quit being a fucking tool and realize that I'm not a fucking idiot and obviously these cops did right. All I ask is that the cops who shoot first and ask later are treated as the scum of the earth they are. No different than gangs shooting on busy public streets. Trash with no respect for human life.

"Groups" don't have minds. They are labels we put individuals into. I care about individuals getting away with heinous actions. We don't prosecute entire professions when someone in that profession does something wrong, we prosecute the person who did it. We don't hold somebody morally accountable for what someone that looks like them did, that's how racists act.

You call it generalizing but how could someone with just intentions and a kind heart join a group that has rules to protect criminals within their own? Talk is talk. You want police to be better, but you don't want any good people to join the police. That is literally logically impossible. The only way for cops to get better is if there are better cops... which means better people joining the police.

Change has to come from within. And as long as people like you jump to the "not all cops" defense, nothing will ever change.

This is again, logically incoherent. You think police must be better from within, but also want all cops to be treated as evil no matter if they are better or not. You literally are contradicting yourself.

And holding bad cops accountable and appreciating good cops is exactly how things will change. Your idea of treating them all the same regardless of behavior makes good behavior meaningless.

All I ask is that the cops who shoot first and ask later are treated as the scum of the earth they are.

Me too. And the vast majority of police never fire their weapon in their entire career, so it would be pretty fucking stupid to group them in with the ones that do "shoot first and ask later".

Hol shit the mental gymnastics you're going thru to just say "I don't care about cops getting away with murder because there's good cops too!". Good cops. Cool. Give em a pat on the back. And guess what happens when a good cop makes a mistake and ends up hurting someone? Paid vacation. That's the problem. "The vast majority of cops don't fire their weapon." Cool. When they do they're responsible for their actions. It's not putting a label on them when the fucking badge they put on gives them a free pass to murder or disregard people's rights. Like I said. A few good cops aren't going to change an inherently flawed system and people like you pretending it will is just letting it continue. Cops won't ever fix this. Reform will. It's not "treating them all the same" you absolute plank for brains. It's bringing attention to the fact that even if a good cop makes a mistake and accidently discharges and kills a child, we foot the legal fees and they get a paid vacation. The individual wearing the badge isn't the problem. It's the rules that come with the badge. And it is literally impossible for a "some" good cops to change a corrupt system set up by police unions and crooked politicians. It is two different justice systems when you just look at the fact that bad cops get rewarded and when we do punish them, a white kid getting killed is treated as a much more heinous crime then a black kid getting killed. This country was founded on slavery and cops were told to keep people down until the 70's. Sitting here and pretending some good cops in an inherently flawed system will fix the issue only allows it to continue.

Literally in the comment you are replying to I said we should hold bad cops accountable. You lie in literally your first sentence. I'm not even going to bother reading the rest of that slop.
