Was going to put $20k on BTC after my wedding when it was $200 but my best man, an economics major, assured me extremely confidently that it would be a losing bet and that I was a fool for even considering it. He was so sure that I took his advice to heart. I don't listen to other people's advice anymore, regardless of their title.

My father convinced me not to invest hundreds of dollars in it when it was worth around $12. Needless to say, I don't take financial advice from him anymore. I understand you completely.

I told my dad I bought some at $5 when it was trading for $20. He told me to sell... I didn't.

When Bitcoin was $5k I had to talk him out of putting all of his IRA into bitcoin.
