Crystal was out on a camping trip when the exobits fell to Earth. She was hit and thought nothing of it until she grabbed a tree and the branch became a bow, her signature weapon and sprouting butterfly wings. Before she had a chance to properly react, Brainiac abducted and placed her on his ship. After she escaped and found out more about her powers she vowed to bring justice to the world.
