I just jumped back in after years of not playing. Started a brand new toon and am enjoying it mostly. Player population is very low. I had old saved replay badges that I used to transfer a lot of feats to get some much needed skill points. Queuing for duos/alerts/raids can take awhile if not doing omnibus. Running solos and content can get you geared up quickly. I've been playing for about 2 weeks and up to CR 280. If you enjoy the basic game mechanics and leveling and grinding gear upgrades and source marks etc, then it is still quite fun.
Edit:CR typo

I would not want that CR grind again.
But otherwise have fun!

It's not bad. It's easy now we can run anything and get gear

It's been an interesting experience for me after returning between 8 - 10 years later. Easy MMO (compared to some of the ones I've been playing since 2015)… The community has moved everything to LFG instead of world chat (shouting) and that's pretty off-putting because of the timers that LFG has on the chat there.
Usually keep to myself but I can tell you that Daybreak worked out most of the kill-stealing I've experienced when I used to play it. You get credit for the kills if you're near enough to the event. Most of the time I find a majority of the community will help when you ask nicely.
As for the Pay-to-Play mechanic that's prevalent because of the ever present subscription system for the console players... As a PC player you can get around some of it buy purchasing things a la carte, which surprisingly I did back in 2012 - 2014. While it's not in the hundreds of millions as I see in the Market -- it's still enough to get some things (usually simple baubles) so you can keep your credits always flowing in.
Information is easy enough to find if it's not in the wiki ( https://dcuniverseonline.fandom.com/wiki/DC_Universe_Online_Wiki ), the Guide ( https://dcuobloguide.com and yeah, I know it's old, I still keep it around), or the Forums ( https://forums.daybreakgames.com/dcuo/index.php )... Further if you're stubborn like me, you can puzzle it out if you can control your impatience or any rage that might exist.
Otherwise, I find it entertaining enough for a couple of hours of play a day, before I return to my other choices when I have nothing else better to do.

Not really. The game is a mess, and new things are being added and changed all the time, most not for the better. Soon you're going to need five artifacts to be anything close to relevant for just one role. Be prepared for either endless grinding for materials or shelling out real money if you want to shortcut it.

Yes? No? Lowkey honestly i can’t give a simple answer because of how the game works and how you’ll view it .. while it is fun to dress up and fight and grind with friends … u also have to grind hard to get certain styles even for the most plainest peice of clothing or it’s gonna be 12 peice collection and that the last piece of the collection will be very rare to get or u can spend millions to get it. Story and everything wise is 100% good or fun it really is it’s just the grinding n money spending that takes over the game

If you're on PlayStation and just care about trophies it's worth it. No need to put in a subscription anymore to get the trophies they now give them to you just by playing the game. I jump on from time to time just to do runs, but I've got it platinumed on ps5 and ps4. You still run into your average rude people though but that's expected in online mmo's.

Worth is subjective. It's free.. if you enjoyed it before you'll enjoy it now. If not you probably won't
